The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Quick help appreciated if poss...

After waiting some time, I ordered a Sapphire Pulse RX 9070 XT today - for delivery tomorrow. I've been running a Sapphire Pulse RX 7600 XT up to now - in an MSI MPG X670E mobo with a Ryzen 9 7900X and 64GB RAM.

Any need to do anything with the AMD drivers? - I've got the latest Adrenaline installed.

20765 score back in March. I think I've tweaked my card since then to get slightly better performance. No idea how this compares to an XT let alone a none XT.

For comparison I'm 80 in Nomad and 34k in Timespy, but they are slightly better tweaked than the Port Royal config.

so im about a 1000 point infront of second place who im going to assume was pushing for a good score, and your about 1500 point Infront of me

this is what 3Dmark say my score is compared to XT runs, when you look at this its really not funny for the XT's.
but also remember im running the nitro+ bios that again as a little extra power limit over the other XT's

So your about 8% behind me in both score and fps, that's a very decent score for a none XT!
It's like flashing a none XT makes it a slightly above average stock XT when flashed and overclocked.

The highest score from the XTs seems low though as it's lower than mine and I ran Port Royal before i got the hang of tweaking my card.
Edit: When I check the top scores for the XT im not even in the top 100 XTs with 20765, just top 2%? Or is that for your specific CPU? It seems I'm top with my CPU, so CPU seems to make a difference too as you'd be 7th in my CPU table haha, that's amazing.


The XFX, Gigabyte and Powercolor top cards have an even bigger power limit than the Nitro+, is it possible to flash their bios?

Either way flashing a none XT seems like a no brainer. I remember doing this with my old ATI cards as they used to use higher end chips with cores only none physically locked, so a bios update would give you the next card up for free. It's rare these days, so good to see.

yer i did see your score but 3Dmark would only compare me the scores with the same CPU's.
if you scroll dose to the top 20 to 30 the scores plato, so i would assume this is people testing with stock settings, my card was way faster then them with what i call game setting, so i am stable.

i would assume yes, i remember flashing my vaga56 with the bios from a completely different brand to unlock higher boost clocks, you just had too make sure it have the same video output ports or it would cause problems.
 
Already had the 9070 but I just picked up the XFX Quicksilver Magnetic Air 9070 XT for £599, couldn't resist at that price. Time to sell the 9070 I guess!

flash the bios on the pulse and send the xfx back hahah

but yer the XFX is a nice looking gpu

I've not had chance to really use the card since buying it but I will be having a go at undervolting tomorrow when the wife's at work.

I've been with nvidia for so long that the adrenalin software is alien to me! Are there any settings I should have on/off for gaming in the graphics tab? Currently got it on default but only been playing WoW and want to play the Indiana Jones game.

no not really, everything works as normal. the best way to use the OC is in the games tab then you can set profiles based on each game and set them up best for power, or power saving

i have squads set to
-80mv +10%, power limit, memory 2820mhz

but Ashes of the Singularity
-100mv -10% power limit, memory stock 2518mhz(auto)

Thanks for that, good to know but I was thinking more about the graphic options in the gaming tab - FSR 4, Anti Lag, Boost, Chill etc. Currently that's on default with nothing turned on and no idea what some of them are!

i use none of them, if you want/need FSR set it in game
 
New card doesn't fit darn it lol, I thought maybe I could squeeze it in but alas - nope.

350mm is obscenely long is there really any need for it to be so long, c'mon XFX you keep making them bigger!!!

Now I need a new case.

I know they are insanely big, my case limited which 9070XT I could get to, that's why I ended up with the pulse. Just a shame about the coil whine that seems pretty common on the sapphires
