Who has a WHOOP band and how are you getting on with it?

I personally think Whoop under reports calories burnt. It is always showing about 20-30% less than Strava thinks I burn. Having said that, I've always thought/said that lifting weights doesn't do much for calorie burn and Whoops reports that. Half an hour lifting and it will say I've burnt maybe 60 cals...
Interesting - Strava reports higher than my Garmin Fenix (I run more than I cycle, and don't have any way to measure power, so they both have the same data), so if it's the same vs your Whoop I do wonder whether Strava over reports

As said somewhere though, when I ride I have power data, which I'm told is the best way of knowing exactly how many calories are burnt, so I don't know using your example without power data helps? I don't know the answer... just wondering out loud I guess.

How do people feel about the Whoop 5.0? It looks reasonable, but the price hike for the top tier seems to be a step too far for me. Twice I've paid for the two year plan and it worked out at about £16 a month. To me that's right on the limit of what I think it's worth to me.

To get the MG and move to top tier would transfer all my payments to around £31 a month... which is just too much for me.

There's also a lot of bad feeling on r/Whoop about how, as late as last year, it was being explained as a membership model with hardware upgrades included.

I guess for now I'll stay on my 4.0, I paid for two years about a month back, so I'll let that run and see what happens...

I’ve just signed up for the month trial to see what it’s all about. I’m 90% sure I’ll return it at the end, but we’ll see.

I'm about 3 years now with Whoop, I do love it, information/detail etc.

The top level one is too much for sure.... I usually find a code to reduce the annual by around 15/20% so if I can find that again I'll go for the 5.0. Battery life sounds good.

To be fair I still get 4-5 days out of my 4.0 but 10-14 days sounds excellent on the new one.

I'll check my membership later and see if any deals around.

I’ve had it for almost a year now, and I’ve found that it hasn’t told me anything I don’t already know tbh.
Will I renew next month or upgrade? Unlikely, I feel it’s just a bit of a gimmick or fashion accessory now. If it accurately tracked steps then I’d consider keeping it, but just think it’s a bit meh.
Also find that I’m having to charge it every few days and the charger is always flat when I need it :D

I was lucky to have 2 chargers so I made sure one was always plugged in so I wasn't caught out.

I'm going to give the App 'Bevel' a chance. It seems really well regarded as an alternative to Whoop.

It is I guess, just that you need at least a year to get the upgrade, but if you've just got it you'd be annoyed.

I'll be looking to get the 5.0 in a few months when my renewal is due. It's definitely helped my overall fitness, and although I could probably do a chunk of the stuff in other ways, the Whoop is just easy to use and see the stats or info when I want to.

but if you've just got it you'd be annoyed.
I don't think that's a factor as they account for what you've paid and convert it to the new rate.

To be fair - stick the battery pack on, you don't need to take it off or anything to charge.... It's seemless.
And this is why I can't decide if I'm bothered by the 14 days battery life. I guess it would be nice to not have to remember the charger when I go on holiday...?

Membership due up in July so probably I'll "upgrade" to 5.0

Also can gift my 4.0 with two months free and a new band to my wife who's been interested in getting one so she can try it for a couple of months.

Even the new band would sell for £30 or so anyway.

Seems to be giving me 18 months for the price of 12 at the moment - telling me if I pay annual just now - next payment isn't till Dec 2026 so works out around £16 a month which is fine for me.

i meant if you'd just got it and now have to commit to another 12 months you'd be annoyed.

Surely that's just extending your existing subscription for 12 months? Same offer as mine, £229 for an extra 12 months and the gift box.

My current membership ends in 1st July... But next payment not till December 2026 according to app/upgrade process. £229

Well no, I think you can just convert to a new plan, again they adjust for the price differences. You have to pay for the new hardware though, or you extend with the 12 months and have the hardware free. (I think...)
