New PC for £1000 -1500, your expertise please.

Tetras, can I ask how the two builds compare? The one shared by you and the one by Tamzzy, factoring in the upgraded RAM
Just to clarify, I got confused with your question because I thought you were going for a prebuilt PC. Did you actually mean my self-build?

There's a few differences between them. I included 64GB, 7800X3D, a different case and a more powerful PSU, but at a cost of £300 more. I also included a 5070 though, not a 5060 Ti.

Sorry, confused yours and Freddies's suggested builds.

I am indeed looking for pre-build, not self build. I can order this on Monday but if there is anything you think I should change / upgrade. Please feel free to suggest, happy to pay more for a more powerful PSU too.

I am happy to change to

Pretty harrowing review of the RTX 5070 here - https://www.google.com/search?sca_e...ate=ive&vld=cid:110e7dc9,vid:qPGDVh_cQb0,st:0

Yes indeed, but would like it to be high enough spec that I don't need to worry about upgrading for a few years

The review isn't totally wrong, however for WoW as the primary game I doubt you'll have problems and the raw performance will be better overall. Your other option would be bumping up to a 9070 for around another £50, which I wouldn't be opposed to doing personally if I had some wiggle room in a budget like yours. MMO's don't tend to be VRAM hogs, they do tend to be CPU heavy usage wise (and I'm a vet' of the genre, especially WoW) and X3D chips are fantastic for that. Worth noting that OCUK are apparently getting the 7600X3D in sometime soon for around £280-300 which would save a bit, silly price imo but for your specific use case almost perfect.

hopefully minimal, i've kept to parts that are in-stock :D

Relatively quiet time of year too so aye, probably not long.

Yes, happy to upgrade to 9070 :) - 111 search results on here ha so if you could please share a specific link that would be much appreciated.

Worth going for the overclocked one? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapp...r6-pci-express-graphics-ca-gra-spr-03984.html

I'd say no, it's such a minor perf' increase and again I doubt MMO's would show off a hefty manual OC in some cases let alone a factory OC.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £577.98 (includes delivery: £7.99)

Sapphire are my go-to for AMD cards too, the pulse is a solid bit of kit and currently the cheapest in stock.

The Nitro Plus is a better card on paper, better HSF too so should run cooler and more quietly. I'd consider it for those reasons rather than any performance increases.

The reason I included the 7800X3D is because MMOs and especially WoW tend to like them, but if that applies to WoW classic specifically, I don't know.

The 5070, I agree that it is not the best card. £500+ for 12GB is argh, but I tend to spec nvidia for WoW because of reading a bunch of reddit posts awhile back about crashes. I think that was only with one render mode enabled and it was resolved after some time, but since I don't play WoW and this game is not included in most popular reviewers benchmarks, I'm not aware of how they perform now.

Worth going for the overclocked one?
I personally don't like the Nitro, because it uses nvidia's 16 pin, would rather have a Pulse.

Brilliant, looks like we are all set! Whilst I am here, anyone have a gaming headset rec for £150-200?

Thinking this - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/raze...ing-headset-rz04-03780100-r3m1-sp-05y-ra.html

If you need wireless and must have a "headset" I'd recommend looking into the Audeze Maxwell, Audeze being an actually respected and competent audio orientated company.

I do not rate "gaming" peripheral companies in the least, but I can be a little bit of an audio snob when it comes to headphones.
