Mc Sauce continues to propel Napoli towards a Serie A title. Two more goals at the weekend making 11 in total in the league. The last time a Scotsman scored that many was 1962 when a certain Denis Law managed 10. Well done McFlurry

Meanwhile Rashford has done his hamstring which is not good news. Antony's performances have tailed off also. I can see both of those stinking the place out for the next 3 months.

I don't think we ever wanted to sell Mcsauce. It was just needs must because of FFP and him basically being instant money to balance the books.

Why we swapped him for Mount is anyone's guess but pretty much normal for our club now.

Couple of little highlights from DDG and Antony. Would be funny if Antony sold for the most out of Rashford, Sancho and him.

It wouldn't surprise me whatsoever that he is doing brilliantly with Betis. Sancho also scored last night need to get them all off the wage bill in the summer, hopefully, let's see.

I see people in the matchday thread are finally starting to realise what a bad state the club is in.

They're going to (need to) spend a lot in the summer with a manager who's a system isn't working with the players he has.

If this fails then the manager will go and we'll be stuck with players made for a specific system playing for a new manager with a different philosophy. And no money.

It's mainly all the Glaziers fault. INEOS have to take some of the blame also.

Winning the Europa (unlikely) is just papering over...

Side note, I'm sure Rooney said that it's only the first team that play Amroim's formation, is there any truth to this? He has no reason to lie/not know.

I think that most of the players that we buy will be based on the fairly simple idea that they should be value for money, not put on silly wages and with strong technical qualities and the right attitude. I genuinely don't think that we are in as much of a mess as lots of people are suggesting.

We are creating chances. We created better chances than West Ham yesterday. We lost 2-0. I think that as we have seen with United for the past decade, things can change quickly we can finish a season quite well and fall apart quite easily come August. I think the opposite is also true. I think that with a few quality additions and some wins under our belt as a result, things will quickly turn around.

No we won't be competing for the league next season but we should be knocking around the top 4-6 comfortably unless recruitment is a mess. Goals are simply our biggest issue right now. We score more goals and we win games.

I agree. However, how often have players joined the club and been successful in recent times? Dorgu looks rubbish but then he was pretty cheap. Hopefully he'll get better?

Even if the new players look good iniyially, they eventually get sucked into the cess pool that is the club and we end up where we are.

It seems like relegation is a genuine possibility next season  you can't rule it out.

The optimist in me feels like our results could be drastically different if we had a natural goalscorer.

Amad is the only player we have who fits that bill, since Greenwood.

I'd love to see the stats on what our results would have been like if Garnacho and Hojlund put away a few more of the chances they have.

This is why they are trying to fix the culture at the club and refocus on football success. Getting rid of the overpaid stars who don't really care about anyone but themselves. Buying young players with room to develop or players hitting their prime. Buying players who are physically capable of playing in the PL.

I don't think we can say much until after the summer realistically but no, there is no chance we are getting relegated next season. We would be solidly mid-table this season if we actually had some players that could put the ball in the net remotely reliably. Not even good forwards. Just some that can hit par.
