DHL / Evri merger

I mean Evri can't get any worse, or can they?
Evri:

Challenge excepted

I ordered something from Aliexpress last week. It made its way from China and landed in the UK on Sunday. Evri picked it up and it’s was out for delivery today, to my work address, and I got a message saying they couldn’t deliver today and will try again tomorrow.

All the way from ******* China without a hitch and then Evri pick it up.

I ordered some vinyl from the states a few years back and inadvertently put my new address with my old postcode. This did not compute with Evri so they just said that I refused delivery & then apparently sent it back to the company that I bought it from. It was never seen again but I did get a full refund at least.

MrsHB is currently in a battle with Evri. We received a package, to our address but a completely unknown name. She posted on Facebook village group, nothing so she reached out to Evri to ask them to contact the sender. So far it’s been 4 days and double digit emails, because they keep replying saying they apologise that the package was lost, but we should contact the seller.

It's not like Evri competed unless competing to be the worst is a competition (I can understand if it legit was, the way some of them are)

The article says that DHL will acquire a stake in Everi, so hopefully it is that way round and not the opposite.

I wonder if they'll now adopt Royal Mail's tracking number format. When I send/receive stuff to/from Germany, I get given the usual Royal Mail tracking. In Germany, it gets handed over to DHL and they use the same tracking format except it ends with -DE instead of -UK. Likewise with parcels from the US. They use USPS for international with numbers ending with -US, which then change to -UK when over here.

Interestingly, Evri are rock solid here. Then again I've not had any issues with any of them tbh. Back in London it was constant shenanigans with all of them apart from DHL.

And whoever manages Yodel really needs to grow taste buds in their arse hole.

I have a regular evri guy do our area. Every time he delivers successfully he gets full marks on the "how did it go?" feedback. They must get rewards for this, as this guy is constantly doing things I thought evri could not do: delivered to an actual safe place instead of into a snake pit, delivery photo actually shows the parcel at my address and is in focus, knocks on door and rings door bell, doesn't deliver packages that don't have my address on. It really is amazing.

DHL were great as well but then my regular guy got a new job. Seems to have random levels of success now.

Yodel - they must employ ninjas... My dogs bark at EVERYTHING that touches the gravel driveway, yet Yodel manage to get the package to the front door without a peep from them. If I didn't have a camera watching the drive I would insist it to be magic.

I'd have already filed it into the "Not my problem then" box well before the emails reached double digits.

Delivery day 2 of my package from China and still nothing but an email saying it’s delayed.

Evri, the courier equivalent of Trumps Tariffs.

Credit where credits due, I had a fantastic experience with DHL a few weeks ago when I returned my meganex vr headset. Whilst the company 'Shiftall' initially refused the refund, paypal forced it upon them and I used DHL Express for the shipping. The parcel arrived at Tokyo customs and was held waiting for Shiftall to provide the import certificate for it. They refused (hoping DHL would sent it back to me), but DHL worked their asses off trying to find a solution and kept me in the loop throughout the ordeal. In the end the UK team spoke to Tokyo and they agreed to send it through without the required paperwork. Shiftall were spitting feathers lol

Still had a battle on my hands with paypal (absolutely useless) but finally got the refund in the end.

Selling something on eBay recently I was horrified to find out they had locked me into Evri as the only postage option.

Fear not however as eBay have ‘underwritten’ Evri and are happy to ‘compensate’ for each and every lost package.

They’ve only been doing it a fortnight and eBay are already in liquidation;)
