We thought similar. Currently have a hybrid S-Max and previous two cars were the Galaxy (really miss the 240bhp Ecoboost!). There's so much more leg room for the rear passengers; my 13 year old son is nearly 6ft, so he'll appreciate it.
We test drove the top of the range demonstrator and my wife actually found it easier to drive and park than the S-Max. You're sat a lot higher and the Santa Fe doesn't have the stupid B pillar that really interferes with your view in the S-Max.
It's a lot of money, but we've had a pretty tough year with family bereavement and being told I can't get travel insurance to visit her family in Canada (I'm a Contaminated Blood survivor), so we said Eff-it and decided to spoil ourselves. We're going to meet the Canada lot in Mexico next year, at the hotel we stayed in for our honeymoon (which is costing almost as much as the car).
I know it's daft spending so much on a depreciating asset, but 90% of my compensation is secure/invested while we figure out what we want to do with the house, and whether we want to stay in the UK (whilst I can't travel as a tourist to Canada, my health shouldn't bar me from emigrating).
Excuse the receptacle, it's my travel glass.
Trying a low profile keyboard, it THOCK like nothing else out of the box, I am impressed. Great acccessories too, coiled cable, USB-C to USB-A adaptor, some spare keycaps including this copper one and a very posh keycap and switch remover.

Lost the will to live after screwing and bolting these together. Doubt they will survive longer than wood up here.
Time will tell.
Yes I know they are wonky
Felt a bid stupid trying to get them perfect as the ground moves so much here seasonally.

That looks like a hell of a lot of work. The ground is the ground when it comes to functional/productive gardening.Lost the will to live after screwing and bolting these together. Doubt they will survive longer than wood up here.

New laser cutter/engraver, a Sculpfun SF-A9 40W bought from Aliexpress. Took a month to get here and I was getting worried at one point as it came via multiple transit points, last one being the Netherlands, and tracking the shipment was difficult. However, arrive it did - and I didn't pay any taxes like I expected so final price was less than half what you normally pay here. It's a well made machine and cutting at 40W produces clouds of smoke which meant I had to improve my ventilated enclosure to ensure it was all vented outside. The machine was actually 2" longer than I expected which made life awkward because I had to extend the shelf.

Toys, boxes, tool racks, bottle holders, engraving photos - and recently trying my hand at wood inlays (marquetry sort of thing). This 40W will engrave steel (but not aluminium), and I have a rotary attachment I haven't set up yet intended for glasses, anodised/painted/stainless steel water bottles, and more stuff than I can think of just now. Does a good job of cutting dark acrylic (anything but clear acrylic which it won't touch) and have made lots of instrument cases for Raspberry Pi's and home-made geiger counters. Your imagination is the limit really.Very cool, what do you make with it?
Does this count? Not a bad red, quite smooth.
€9.99
I used to work with a bloke called Scheiblhofer and he was a miserable sod. The wine is nicer.
