Payraise.. how much do you expect? how much did you get?

Depends on the company, where bonuses/commission is factor in to the contract, then it should be factored into the redundancy pay.

We have the option to put part or the whole of the bonus into our pensions, we also get the companies tax and NI relief, if we do.
We can too, however we don't get the employee match on that, just the tax benefits.

I never worked for a company that does pension match on a DC, I hear YouTubers go on about them all the time and thought it was just an American thing. But when the bonuses are 4-8 figures, I don't think it's reasonable to expect company match on them.

They have been issusing shares as a bonus recently, good for their taxes and ties us down for the holding period.

5%/3% employee/employer for DC pensions is the legal minimum and decent employers do a lot better than that.

The point was this is one of the ways that paying bonuses instead of higher base salaries reduces overall cost and longer term liability to employers because bonuses aren't counted for employer match and aren't ongoing.

Government is hiding the figures the pay review body has suggested for Doctors. Suspect it'll be 4 or 5% but I assume the Gov is hiding it to get Agenda for Change to accept a worse deal first then give a slightly better deal to Docs in an attempt to avoid further strikes.

Didn't get a payrise this year, none of the 6 people in the team I work with got one.

They used the excuse that the minimum wage and NI increase is costing them too much... Strange really as nobody at the company is on minimum wage and the NI increase can be offset by the fact the area manager quit and they don't plan to replace him. Instead they want us to report directly to who his manager was. Surely saving that salary they could have given the 6 of us a small increase. If anything we've had a big decrease because we used to consistently hit our profitability target to achieve a profitability bonus, but this year they've raised the target to something unachievable so now none of us care about cost saving. Would have been cheaper to pay our bonuses as they're losing more in costs now that none of us are bothered about it.

@danlightbulb - you wanna weigh in on this one? ;) :p

None this year, main customer has a new head of procurement and obviously has his favourites so we are now ticking over with dibs and drabs ,combined with the NI raises means nothing again.

Yay.

What's there to say? Presumably he is still being paid his actual salary for doing his supposed job?

Doesn't that just seem a bit entitled to you? Company expects performance, is paying his salary, but because there's no bonus they can't be bothered?
People get used to things, whether it's delivered as higher salary, bonuses, or perks like time in lieu, air hockey tables or office snacks. If you take those away, people might be dissatisfied and leave.

The other factor is that if you're raising the bonus requirements to unreasonable levels you aren't offering a bonus at all, you've just cancelled it.

Still doing the job, the cost saving is a lot of extra work. It adds a lot of time and effort and really does require going beyond what's asked of us.
That's why there was a bonus for it. Why should we make our lives more difficult and work longer hours for no reward?

only just finished my probation on my new jobs so nothing :D but I think people have been getting 2%, the new NI rises added around the equivalent of 1% of turnover which prob didn't help

Logistics, new position since moving to Shropshire.

3.1% this year backdated to February 1, 3.0% next year...

My former employer has recently written to employees saying there's no rise in the immediate future, despite no rise in the last 3.5 years...
