S2000 owners thread. 9,000rpm of goodness in here.

Paintwork and interior needs a bit of TLC but otherwise corrosion free and comes with the hardtop.

Price sounds really fair considering you get the hard top too !
 
I really wasn't overly fussed about the hardtop. The last S2000 I had the hardtop sat in the attic on the stand and was never used. Not complaining though, guess it's nice to have the car complete.

Already eyeing up a load of things to do. Think a new set of OEM mats are in order and considering going down the PCI rails and Recaro Pole Position route. The drivers side bolster is looking pretty done in and figured I might just take the plunge for a nice bucket.

Definitely want an OEM style front lip and low boot lip spoiler. Fullcartuning one a decent bet?

Any of you guys had any experience using S2000power.co.uk? Few bits and pieces I wouldn't mind picking up.

Hair dryer+ plastic bag for life handle and some patience got it off. No fixings used which is a plus imo. So is this OEM? I guess it was once red?

Will get some goo gone on the case to clean up and then order some tape to reapply. MOT this week so didn't think It would go in my favour if this was flapping around

Paint seems fine underneath, don't think it's done any harm
 
It could be OEM off another car and then sprayed the correct colour. Does it have Honda or the H logo on it anywhere?

That's what I was thinking too!

I'll have a proper look when I clean it up.

I wonder if there will be any noticeable colour difference if I decide to leave it off once cleaned up.

I like the look with and without, so not sure what I'll do just yet. See how it cleans up.

The post 2006 models seem to be quite a bit cheaper than the pre 2006 models. Mainly due to the road tax difference.
I prefer the earlier cars like mine anyway because of the cable throttle and the lack of traction control. Much less to go wrong.

Of course, this plays a part too. I actively searched for pre 2006 for the tax issue

Seems legit.

Cleaned the boot lid nicely. Need to tackle this now.

I genuinely quite like the look without the lip too... But it does seem to have left behind a few marks so probably best to just put it back on.

Still need to decide on the right tape. So many grades :D

Just can't get by the looks of an MX5, don't particularly like Boxsters, BMW Z's don't do it for me. It doesn't leave a great deal of options.

Is an R34 worth over 100k? Is an NSX worth the price they now command, older Evos? It's just the state of the market. Values have gone a bit mad but if I keep thinking like that I'll never get another one. Years ago I had an NSX within my means and now it's just completely unobtainable. Whilst I doubt an S2000 will ever command that sort of money I don't see the value of them decreasing.
 
Noooo! First MOT in my ownership is a fail :( they also didn't get time to rectify the issue this afternoon so left the car with them for the night.

To be fair it's hopefully not bad, could just be a fitting or something.

"Nearside Front Brake hose connection leaking on a hydraulic braking system"

Oh and a side light not working or something, sounds like a bulb

But other than that no mention of rust/tyres/ etc. fingers crossed it's not a big deal. Just a shame to have a fail against a pretty strong MOT history
 
It happens. 20-year-old car isn't it.
Just be happy that they caught that leaking brake line. That could have been dangerous if it suddenly failed or it leaked all the brake fluid out.

Yeah it's a good thing really, I've had the call this morning to say it's ready so hopefully not too bad. Will go get it shortly:)
 
Upon investing, they found it to be a connection just needed to be tightened up.

And the bulb for the side light needed changing.. they only had orange so now I have 1 LED and 1 orange surely that's no good.

Got it through though and no fee, so I'll just order a pair and do myself
 
that is the oem ducktail, someone must've put it on and glued it with what ever that was? silicone? which must've failed. It does have actual threads for normal oem attachment points..

but sorta lucky that boot is not drilled too..

I'd just 3m VHB tape it back on and it'll be good.

Yeah I'm going to tape it on, this stuff used previously is horrid!

Which Grade of VHB tape did you use? Loads of different ones on Amazon etc 5952 etc

yeah, 5952 is what I used and it was fine, multiple times on different cars to attach certain things.. sticks well to paint etc but prep is key, get it properly clean/grease free and allow 24hrs or so for it to properly bond.

Perfect I'll grab that then!

Wonder if I should polish the boot lid first too, there's definitely witness of where the previous adhesive sat
