I'm looking for an indoor exercise bike. I don't have much in the way of requirements other than it should be quiet (I live in a shared house). I was looking at this one:

but honestly not sure what I should be looking for. If one integrated with the Apple Watch 10 that would be pretty sweet but not a deal breaker if it does not.

What’s your budget… I’ll be honest, that won’t be much in the way of quality. Your best bet is finding something higher quality used on Facebook marketplace

Thank you. I don't really have a budget as such but I don't want a Peloton for example. I've never owned an exercise bike and I'm deeply unfit so I don't want to spend loads on one only to find I'm not going to use it. Having said that if there is a real tangible benefit of spending more then I am open minded. I'm just not sure what price range that comes in.

Is exercising from home an absolute must for you? If you've any local gyms it might be better to get a months membership and see how you get on with the equipment, it'd be a shame to spend a few hundred quid on a bike you don't end up using.

Failing that, agreed with the above, you're better off looking at local groups for used equipment. A lot of workout related stuff is a bit of a nightmare to move on and it takes up a lot of space, you can often find great deals on gear, especially weights and benches etc.

Don't underestimate walking either, an hour a day locally can make a huge difference if you're out of shape, pop some earbuds in and the time will fly.

This is very good advice.

Thank you. Unfortunately outside exercise isn't an option. I'll have a look on local marketplaces though.

Its a tricky one because getting a rubbish indoor bike will be a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy. It will be crap, you won't enjoy it and you won't use it. Conversely spending £1000 on a bike to find you don't use it is just as bad. As others have suggested, I would perhaps try a gym for a month to see how you like it.

Alas, leaving the house isn't an option. But I'll have a think about things. Thank you!

I spent about £100 on an exercise bike from ebay, I generally do half hour in the morning and then go for a 45 min walk at lunch. Mine is basic, it has a heavy front wheel and a tension knob to make it harder or easier to pedal. At that price I was willing for it to be not good, but I've had it about 3 years now and still going good.
Mine is a very similar design to the one you posted.

I hit 38 and my metabolism started to slow down and I was in the same situation you're in now. I ended up buying a Peloton off ebay for less than half the price they go for new, and it's been amazing for me. I hate exercise, and especially cardio but Peloton has been the answer for me and it's a year next month I've been doing it at least three times a week. Having an instructor in front of you to tell you exactly what to do has been a real game changer and each instructor has their own style so you can find the ones that work for you. I only do classes with a guy called Cody Rigsby because he is brilliant at distracting you from the fact you're actually exercising as he talks about general life anecdotes pretty much constantly as you're exercising. I wouldn't say I hop on the bike in anticipation now but I don't hate it and it's built into my routine. Doubt I could have done it without Peloton - something to think about!

Same here I think I’m 2 years into peloton. I do the power zone training as a way to keep it structured.
