Star Wars “MCU to "Refocus” Disney begging Men to come back!

Watched this vod, pretty good explanation of how SW went wrong with Disney. Bob Iger is as much to blame as KK. Complete f up how they kept on firing writers and rushing dross out. They should have kept with George's original outline of the sequel movies. What a complete car crash.

I know andor is quite highly regarded, but it isn't really star wars is it? Viewing figures have been very poor.
It's Star Wars for those of us wo grew up with SW in the 80's and are now firmly in the adult category. I think it offers an alternative, rich and layered vie of the setting. It's a shame about the viewing figures but Disney has been destroying their own audience for so long now that the quality is lost amongst the slop.

I think apathy has a large part to play for sure. I just don't even bother watching any new star wars content at all now. Boba fett was the last straw for me, just utter garbage. They just pump out slop and expect people to lap it up because star wars. Well, they have pretty much killed it now.

They need to take a step back, leave it alone for 5 years or so, then bring it back with a new trilogy that focuses on quality story telling and not agenda driven crap. Also, no more TV shows, star wars just isn't suited for this format. It should be a big event at the cinema.

Star Wars can be saved if they carry on the quality of Andor and Rogue One

Despite being good that's still based from George's original story (i know Lucas hadnt had anything directly to do with it) but it shows what can be produced if the director and production are left to actually make quality material. They have to go back to basics and make movies people want to watch not dish out garbage like the sequels. Hopefully lessons learnt and they can build from it.

They need to leave it alone for longer than 5 years and then call everything that went before legends++ and start over from the original six. Even then I don't think enough younger fans care enough about the franchise to bother. The quality of stuff after the sale has made people talk positively about the prequels and the state of the writing lately makes people think 90% of the old EU wasn't actually crap. That's how poor this period has been. I don't even think Rogue one stands up after repeat viewing.

I agree. The Battle of Scarif is great eye candy, Vader's scene is fantastic but the rest is pretty poor. It doesn't help that I don't really care for any of the "heroes". Jyn is so wooden and, frankly, unlikeable, Cassian seems like a supporting character, the pilot is totally underdeveloped, Saw is wasted, etc.

I think the answer to that is complex, it is an exposition of a lot of the background of Star Wars and a lot of structural overlap with the original movies but it doesn't cover a lot of the traditional ground of Star Wars. There are mixed reasons why the viewing figures have been relatively poor.

I think what a lot of people want from Star Wars sits somewhere between Andor and Skeleton Crew with more force involvement than in Andor (and a bit more of the spectacle sometimes of the bigger set pieces, etc.).

Rogue One has always been massively overrated because of the nostalgia ending sequence. The rest of the film is pretty meh.

Couldn't disagree more.

Its a very traditional film, good acting a plot that isn't up it's own behind. One story arc not 20 all going in different directions. No time travel, no multi verses, no gimmicky plot twists, no panto style surprises. Not a thousand people shooting and no one gets hit. No superpowers.

I think there's room for star wars content which is just made that bit better. Andor is the same.

I think skeleton crew is also decent. Because it's a simple story told well, and made well. It's not trying to be anything it isn't.

K-2SO is good though.
