What "man jobs" have you done today?

Was out all morning so not got to the hedges and Cherry trees yet but managed to stuff the last of the cuttings from a dead shrub into the green bins. Hopefully they update the collection rounds so they get taken tomorrow.

It went from 26 degrees to thunderstorms and heavy rain in 2 minutes today. Unreal. Managed to get the wall finished except for filling the cavity with a lean mix. Copings all laid out ready to lay maybe tomorrow.

We got some more troughs and 2 massive stone gate posts up onto the bank with the fork lift because tomorrow I'm putting in the trailers for his static van extension

Just had a few hours in the garden. Cut the hedges as best I could, they are in a sorry state from two neighbours cutting back their sides too heavily. One to put a fence up and the other to free up their growing beds. Not sure if it will recover. Too many brambles still.

That didn't take long, so I started some tree pruning and removal, going to be a nightmare disposing of it all. On a positive note, the reciprocating saw made it so much easier, wish I got one years ago. Will still have to do some high level pruning with a pole saw. I really need a decent ladder now.

Went shopping with wife today - She was driving. I will have to get used to it as I shoudn't drive anymore. My manhood has now gone.:(

Quickly attached the inverter to a smart relay so I can control it with automations, manually or via the 433mhz remote

The inverter is connected to smart tapo power strip trio further control attached devices

Got the trailers in place and something wasn't quite right when I bolted them to the existing steel. Turns out the bloke that welded them was on the pop during welding or the night before. :D One of the trailers were 60mm out of square so I had to do some jiggery pokery to get the front parallel. He also should have used 6x2 box not 4x2.
I blocked underneath and used folding wedges as per the customers request.
Also I filled up the cavity with a lean mix and put a land drain behind the wall ready for gravel and backfilling.
Copings are next on the list. Going to prime the top of the blocks and the underside of the copings to make sure they don't pop off.

Our bathroom was getting very steaming and we had to start opening the windows to clear it. An electrician had fitted our extractor fan 11 years a go and I thought it had a problem. I was right  The fly screen on the vent on the exterior wall had fell apart and the duct was full off spiders webs and god know what. The pipe that came from the vent in the bathroom was all buckled up and was left way too long.
Ordered a new inline fan, new exterior grille and some more pipe from amazon and sorted it out. Steam free bathroom now as I tested it out with a shower to remove the itchy from the insulation :D
I will be replacing the floppy elephants trunk pipe with some proper duct too.

Looking good.

Looks like rather than tacking, checking with the 3-4-5 they've gone full on weld, which has pulled everything out of square.
Lucky the customer is OKAY with that.

Have the wheels been added to get around building regs?

If you look at the end grain. As pieces are cut to size they will release the stresses present in the wood, often you'll see movement following patterns with the grain. Have read up on the structure of wood- things like cathedrals etc all will make the wood warp in different ways.

Will do.

The lid is bowed because it's two pieces glued together and I think I clamped it too hard. Which was exactly the thing the person in the video I followed said not to do.
