Hey guys,

Looking at the standard adapters for the 5090 being 4 eight-pins, my official Corsair 16-pin only has two connections into the PSU. Is that still safe enough to give power safely to the 5090?

The 150 limit is on the device side, not the PSU side, hence you get 8 pin PCIE cables with 2 connectors. A good Corsair PSU should be fine with it, though I'd not recommend overclocking that card (regardless of what cables you use).

Yes it's fine , you usually get 2 x 8 pin pcie for each cable rating at 300w from the PSU for each port so that would mean 600w supplied.

If that makes sense

yes it does make sense, thank you!

perfect. i wont be overclocking if i went for a 5090, infact I would probably undervolt, as i now am having good success on my current 5080 and my previous 4070ti S.

yeah i got one of these corsair cables a year or 2 back and it had 2 connectors and recently bought a corsair angled cable and its the same 2 connectors, i assume a psu manufacturer has an idea what they are doing :)
