I have no idea why this has suddenly become such a common thing to say about the cars. Monaco wasn't famous for overtakes even in the 80s and 90s when the cars weren't this wide, it's just not a track designed for comfortable overtaking.

Overtakes were still possible. It's basically impossible now with the cars and aero.
