Agreed. Unless I’ve missed something, I’m not sure how he’s justifying £5 a slot. Borderline profiteering imo
Profiteering? It’s £20 a month. My son and wife have a slot and sold 3 slots for a fiver each? That’s 4 people paying £5 a month. Which works out the people paying are saving £8 per month for a sub (including myself)

The guys offering at £3.30 or whatever it is are selling 5 slots and not sharing with any family members which is obviously fine but I’m in no way profiteering as you allege and everyone is paying the same. My goal was not to profit but to pay roughly the same as I had been paying using the vpn route that has been closed by YouTube.

Sounds like 3 people paying £5 a slot and 3 paying £1.66 ;)

I just think it sets a bad precedent. I've seen a few threads(my own included), and all have sold on an equal per-slot basis, irrespective of who the slots are for

Anyway, I'm thankful that mods currently allow it to go ahead on the MM in any form, as family sharing outside your household is such a grey area, and it's helped me and others get a good deal while it lasts.

How exactly does it set a bad precedent? No one was forced to buy the slots and are free to leave whenever they want ;)

I might have to suck it up and get Premium Family and flog 2 slots. No family option for Premium Lite and the single version at £7.99 has way more compromises than just no music, fewer ads rather than ad free being the major one.

Yeah the fewer ads for £7.99 is poor. I did read it was only ads on music videos but not sure if that’s correct.

I'll take one slot off your hands!

Is anyone planning to sell family slots in the MM anytime soon?
Why would you not just switch countries and have your own account? Takes literally 1 minute.

People going via MM, using other people's Premium slot etc, can only laugh at people who do this, ridiculous

Isn't it £20 a month for 6 slots? Maybe maths is not your strong point, but that works out at £3.33 each.

Be it 1p or £1, you are 100% profiting from other people if you are then changing £5 each. You are basically getting others to pay for you and your family.

Saying all that, the bigger fools are the ones buying them from you, instead of just having their own for the same price or cheaper.

Someone ****** in your coffee?

He's taking the billing liability so if someone hes sold a slot to stops paying him then he still has to pay. YT premium is £12.99 so someone buying it off him for £5 a months is still saving money. "Maybe maths isnt your strong point?" Yes people could country hop which im doing but its a ballache finding somewhere that works and having to keep hopping everytime your kicked out of a region. Most people wouldnt mess about like that so just paying £5 is more convenient and cheaper.

Re him profitering, he took the time to set it up and invite everyone in, hes liable for the monthly charge if people pay him or not. Do i see a problem with someone getting YT premium cheaper than if they did it themselves but also him getting his YT premium subsidized, not at all. Just chill your beans and if you dont like it step out of the thread.

Billing liability lol wut? That's his own problem, the risk he takes by doing something he's not supposed to be doing - selling the slots separately. If someone pays or doesn't pay it makes zero difference - he still needs to pay the full price either way, selling the separate slots or not. That's a decision he made, to get the family plan, by himself.

Nobody should have to pay extra as some sort of insurance just in case some payment is not made in the future.

It's profiteering 100% whether you agree or not, pure facts. And I'm not the only one who noticed it.

It's not a ball ache there's an endless list of countries to move to, and takes less than 1 minute.

Try taking your tongue out of his ass, you're very deep in it.

the MM slots are usually paid for the full year up-front, so no liability involved.
and yes, my YT premium sub was bought from MM at the usual price £3.33/mth paid up front, so speaking from experience
is it profiteering? even if a little bit...absolutely yes

does profiteering really matter if someone accepts the price being offered? no, IMO
is it against the spirit of MM rules? dunno, not a mod, personally, i would argue yes it is
clearly a forumer or two has decided that £5 is reasonable and subsidising Heisenberg was worthwhile. their money their choice comes to mind
large corporations do it too...we just suck on our teeth, grin and bear it

chill out guys (or gals, don't get your knickers in a twist), not your money :P

I've moved to paying full price - it's frustratingly expensive, but I do get an awful lot of use out of it so I suppose there is value to the expense.
I've done the same for 4 months now but will go down the family plan soon to get my rents an account. How does the family sharing work for different ip addresses, do we need VPNs or something?

At least with a genuine membership there's no faffing with trying to get a new country to work every few months when they clock on.
