Barcelona

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was born as a legacy of the 1992 Olympics, because nothing says "Olympics" like fast cars and burnt rubber. Its foundation stone was laid in 1989, and by 1991, it was already hosting the Spanish Touring Car Championship—because who needs slow progress when you have fast cars?

Just two weeks later, Formula 1 arrived for its grand debut. Cue Nigel Mansell and Ayrton Senna locked in a dramatic eyeball-to-eyeball drag race down the straight. Mansell took the lead and cruised to victory, while the rest of us wondered if we’d ever be that cool.

Drivers adore this track, which is lucky since they’ve spent endless winter hours testing their cars here. With its mix of high- and low-speed corners, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is like a rollercoaster designed by engineers with a sense of humor. Turn 3, that sweeping right-hander, is the ultimate test of whether your car is a masterpiece or a mechanical tantrum.

And let’s not forget Barcelona itself—a city so fabulous it practically needs no introduction. Beaches, paella, Gaudi architecture—it's like the universe threw all the good stuff into one place. A Spanish Grand Prix holiday is basically a two-for-one deal: world-class racing and a city break that will make your Instagram followers jealous.

When it comes to watching the action, you’re spoilt for choice. Grandstand A at Turn 1 offers prime views of overtaking drama, while the general admission area at Turn 3 lets you marvel at cars defying physics with their downforce wizardry. Bring snacks, sunscreen, and prepare for a weekend of adrenaline and tapas.

You forgot the pickpockets, muggers, etc. :(
Pickpockets for sure, but mugging is a new one on me, and I've lived here for 13 years (although there are a lot of stories about rich tourists being relived of their expensive watches in recent times).

Anyway, in the unlikely event anyone is in the city, they are doing a F1 Fan village, like last year, in Placa Catalunya. I'll probably pop down one day this week.

Barely anything needs to happen in this race for it to seem like a 10, given what we just watched yesterday.
Glad they packed another race in straight away. Help wash the gloom away.

It'll be interesting to see whether these front wing changes really do mix up the running order. Especially if it plays into Ferrari's hands.

McLaren, amongst others, have been saying since race 2 that they were already compliant, so I'll be surprised if the changes have any affect at all.

I guess we'll see come quali. I don't mind if McLaren are still ahead, but it'd be nice if they were slowed down a little. At the tracks it suits best, that car is in another league.

Fred had some optimism that this would really help Ferrari... :D

Well if Mclaren do under perform in Spain then one single race should not be the measure that any changes to their front wing influenced that performance.
As to slowing them down, it is a shame some cannot just applaud their success instead, this is not aimed at your comment just at those self elected 'fans', after all they're doing this without the, so called, wind whiperer Andrian Newly so their success should really be congratulated.

The usual pundits are saying this will be a Red Bull Verstappen weekend from the nature of the circuit better suiting the car, so expect a whole load of 'flexi wings nerf McLaren' nonsense.

This seems confused to me. One can both admire the success of McLaren in delivering the best car this season, and their incredible turn around over the last few years; and also want to see a closer, more interesting, contest between the top teams.

I'd laugh my socks off if Redbull fall behind other teams this weekend, apparently McLaren and Mercedes used their flex-compliant wing at Imola.

Savage. Showed the replay of Colapinto making a small mistake, but before it cut to that it had the Jack Doohan photo and animated graphic.
Poor Doohan.
