BMW and M Power Owners

It can cause windup in the transfer box if the tyre sizes difference are too big front to rear which then judders on hard acceleration. I can't find it now but there was a post on a forum where BMW told the owner to put star marked tyres on before they would investigate an issue with juddering on acceleration as the car had x-drive. The owner got a set of star marked tyres for the rear in the same size as what was on the car and when swapping them had a picture of them side by side and the difference was massive looked to be almost an inch despite being quoted as the same size and they weren't budget tyres either, the new tyres resolved the issue.

Don't think it causes a great issue if you have the same tyre brand/model all round but especially on the cars with staggered sizes the star rating means they will be within the tolerances the x-drive system can cope with. With PS4Ss it is not a huge deal as I found the star marked models were cheaper than the standard model.

Just looking back at some sneak shots I've taken when dropping my car off.. Anyone who can be trusted with an E46 M3 CSL, an E24 M6, a bright yellow 2002 and an 850csi can do whatever they like to my 335d

When I had my PS4S * marked fitted earlier in the year, I found exactly the same - cheaper than non * marked. Pleasantly surprised, thought they would be more expensive since they were blessed with BMW's gracious technical benevolence :D

Glorious BMW master race vs dirty Dercedes peasants?

Actually... either one of those brands and "master race" has difficult connotations :)

Fairly sure I already have but here you go :)

The 2002 was always up on a lift and I didn't manage to get the 8 series... weirdly it turned up in a random youtube video as the guy owner was talking about it being written off, it was getting a test drive after some work and someone tboned it at a nearby junction.

On some AMGs there is a Master setting which you can adjust within AMG dynamics and on top of that you can do the standard adjustment of Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Race so you can literally put the car into Master, Race setting

What has happened to the second hand market?
Was Offered 18k PX for my 440 in Jan. Now its 14k.

Madness.

Will have to sell it privately, however even those values seem all over the place.
Some going for 15k some over 20k. I suppose it depends on condition and specification.
Thankfully, My cars Spec is pretty high and its condition is pretty good.

Went to see this today.. https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202505212641951

WTF, how do you ruin a wheel in 20k, unless it had a mileage blocker? Our 3 series with 100k wheel looks better...

Easier to find a panel that wasn't repainted...

The sales guy attitude was already enough for me to walk, but my dad said to wait. Had to wait an hour for him to find and fetch the car even though I booked a viewing yesterday morning.. No matter how much you're spending, London and surrounding areas is full of sheds... Waste of time.

Edit:

Thinking about the mileage to wear ratio, the pads and discs were pretty worn too...

Mileage blocker should be picked up during the AUC process, there's more than one ECU which records mileage. Ask any dealer to show or send you the BMW Air printout, which is a recording of every time the key is read at any BMW dealership, it should also include the mileage.

I find AUC salesmen far more frustrating to deal with compared to new cars.

I bailed on seeing this today.

Been umming and arrring all week but just can't bring myself to drop £20k on a now 7 year old BMW. Car prices are crazy! :(
Seems really expensive. M2s are not much more
