*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

Funny how some of the Nvidia fans in here are not posting much in the RTX5000 thread about:
1.)Nvidia hardware problems
2.)Nvidia software issues
3.)Nvidia cards now dropping below RRP
4.)Nvidia now bundling free games
5.)China hoovering up supply of higher end Nvidia dGPUs for AI via third countries, leading to shortages in some markets

Instead they seem to be trying to dunk on the RTX9000 series, despite the same people moaning about:
1.)AMD RT being crap
2.)AMD software being crap
3.)AMD power consumption

So when AMD makes improvements in the 3 listed areas, they move onto complaining AMD hasn't sold 10X more than Nvidia. Hence, the launch is a failure.

By that logic,AMD CPUs must be a failure because Intel still sells more than AMD in server and laptop.Yet,they have no answers to why the RTX5000 series prices are now trending below RRP with free games, despite them spinning the RTX5000 series being an absolute perfect launch with zero problems.

This is the same arguments we had during the HD5000 era to defend the GTX400 series at all costs.

It shows a stunning lack of basic understanding.AMD simply makes LESS cards than Nvidia and are a CPU company. Nvidia MAKES more cards than AMD and are a GPU company.

So a "successful" AMD launch is them selling all the cards they produced. For Nvidia if they even sell 5X MORE cards than AMD,they can still have a "poor" launch if they sold less than they expected.

Nvidia makes more cards than AMD,so needs higher sale volumes.

Also for an RDNA4 rumour thread, why isn't there more discussion of the cards and tech like in the RTX5000 series thread? The RTX9060 series launch is this week and it seems like a concerted effort to bury any discussion of these cards.

Weird how all these AMD threads never stay on topic, but the Nvidia ones seemingly do.
I see what you're saying Cat, I see what you're saying....buuuuuuuuut......

have you considered MFG 4X? :p

I stated months ago the 60 series from both AMD and Nvidia would be the genuine price/perf fight. The 5060 and 5060Ti look like crap in price/perf and AMD have a massive open goal. Let’s see if they score.

7700XT launch MSRP was $450
9060XT 16GB is $350

They are similar raster, so about 20% better raster price/performance and even more in RT. Add 4GB more VRAM and it’s actually a decent price.

The 5060Ti 16GB is going to look overpriced compared to a similar performance 9060 XT.

9060 XT 16G be around £315 for entry models, based on how well 5060 Ti 16G sells and 7700 XT at current pricing, we feel the 9060 XT is going to be a huge hit. :)
That would work. Are we thinking of a little bit slower than a 7800XT? I think the masses will baulk at too much over £300.

People say this about 9070 XT yet it sales are great, they certainly wont go under £315 for a while, day 1 pricing will be the best on 9060 XT. I'd expect it to normalise in the £320-£350 region for 16G and remain sub £300 for 8G. Will sell just fine as 7700 XT and 7800 XT are now EOL and stocks all but gone nearly so its a case of in the £250-£400 region the choices will be 9060 XT / 5060 and 5060 Ti, so people will buy them simply as there is no alternatives, B580 shall remain at £250 and B570 will drop to £199.

So in short the mainstream gaming sector will be:

B570 £199 - £229
B580 £239 - £269
9060 XT 8G £269-£299
5060 8G £269-£299
9060 XT 16G £315 - £399
5060 Ti 8G £319 - £379
5060 Ti 16G £389 - £499
5070 £499 upwards

With 7700/7800 all gone more or less and very limited stock of 4060 / 4060 Ti left, all that volume will shift to new SKU's.
Stuff like 7600, 3050 shall remain for sub £200 bracket!

New steam hardware survey update for May. We are now several months in.

1% = 1.3 million users.

AMD's pricing has resulted in their cards yet to make the list. £670+ for a 9070 XT.

I'm sure someone will come along and say how the 9070 XT sold more than all nvidia cards combined, based on heresay.

The increases in the share of the new 5xxx cards is slow though. AMD will be even slower. AMD missed their chance to grab meaningful market share.
you know the hardware survey is not worldwide and skewed by which ever part of the world it was done in this month

they do not add this onto previous months each survey is unique so this month it could be a random part of china or central europe

You'll have probably noticed like I have recently as well more replies cropping up that move the goal posts. Key examples are now with RT. Now that the 9070/XT can do RT the replies have become 1 of 2 things. Either, oh the game is running cut down RT that's why AMD cards perform well. Or, we don't care about RT, it is rubbish now and it is all about PT. Lol. Some people are so butt hurt by the 9070/XT it is sad!

They now forget about RT but mention PT a lot

the new one is AMD uses more Gram forgetting Nvidia uses more cpu and has micro stutter issues with it at times

Same, to an extent, with DLSS now that FSR4 is pretty much on par with it.

8gb trash vs Nvidia 8gb trash that can be had for same money.
if your playing Rocket league or counter strike its awsome

and to be honest the most taxing game I play on my 9070xt is warzone the only single player games I play are strat games

and loads of people like me will hardly every play a AAA game or care about them

you have your elitist goggles on
