NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

It wasn't from them, you can just about make out the first two letters...

I said "What the @#$%!", the driver just shrugged "I dunno, it was like that"
Jeeeez. It really is mind blowing how some retailers ship expensive items, including those which don't **** graphics cards in a box at all. Just slap and sticker on and pray it doesn't get stolen en route.

It happens in the hardware community also as I remember years ago recieving a GPU from the MM and the person whom sent it just stuck a sticker with my address on the GPU box for the whole world to see what it was and it gets worse as it was not sealed so anyone could've just opened the box and taken the GPU out.

Years ago I got a processor which must have been pre Zen or a Intel with pins not sure if from MM or the bay in which the CPU was stuck to the heatsink and put in a box and it was very lucky how none of the pins got broken/bent.

Never had this happen yet thankfully, but it is concerning. But have had the same issue with some of the 5090 boxes not sealed and also just shipped as seen (WTF) easily could have been taken/switched out etc.

Wdym? I'm sure DPD will take appropriate care, just like they did with my 5080 :o

The bear must have been able to smell salmon in the box. Or they threw it out of a plane.

The worst thing that’s happened to me is DPD leaving a £6k system at my back gates in the ******* rain all day without knocking. They couldn’t be arsed to walk to the front. They are supposed to take a picture with your door open, the picture he took was on the road with my gates closed.

Still not sure whether to go for 5070ti / 5080 upgrading from a 3080. I'm not convinced the upsell to a 5080 is worth it.
I was waiting for the 5080 to upgrade my 3080. After seeing how poor it was I went for 4070tis for under half the price. 5070ti near £700 is what I would go for if buying now.

Hopefully the 6000 cards are a good jump being on a new node/new consoles to compete with.

Sounds good! Which 5070ti did you go for? I was torn as founders 5080s are back in stock :P

5060Ti appears on the Steam Hardware Survey before AMDs 9070 series despite it only being released a few weeks ago

due to the size and weight of the GameRock 5090 gpu, I have ordered a "pencil style" GPU anti-sag, will this be ok against the plastic shroud on the top of the card without cracking or splitting it due to the weight of the card?

It's a cheaper card, it should sell more than the 9070 series.

The survey also shows how important releasing first with large volume is for marketshare, the 5060Ti has had a seven week headstart on the 9060XT.

I know the RTX5060 got some stick, but it's good SFF cards are being made:
