Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning )

Tom Cruise had me at Risky business.
I'm still amazed this man never given an Oscar.
I'm guessing he's probably alienated too many of the people who have a vote over the years. He's also stopped taking roles that would attract an Oscar nomination after his experience on Eyes Wide Shut.

well, it was 'fine'.
The foisrt half was more like a clip show it jumps around so much.
You really need to turn your brain off also as the plot is moronic.

Saw it tonight. Probably the worst one since 3 but there is a pretty high bar. I'd say maybe 7.5/10 is fair. The links to the old films felt quite forced at times
(William having snuck that knife out of Langley and taken it all the way to that island just made me laugh)
Bits of the film really dragged, I thought the opening wasn't good and felt very 'previously on Mission Impossible' The underwater section was absolutely fantastic though. And yeah parts of the plot felt a little...adjacent to reality.
Destroying cyberspace? And why did all the electricity all go out and then come back on at the end?
A few dodgy green screen bits at times too.

We watched it last night, still thinking " what the actual **** was that"

Really good ( if a bit too long ) action scenes joined together by a plot written by a gang of four year olds :(

I watched this last week — I thought it was really good, to be honest. Easy 8 out of 10.

I would say the "MacGuffin" usage is completely unbound from reality. I watched a few Mission: Impossible episodes on Legend a few months ago, and they also used ridiculous MacGuffins and plot devices (so in keeping).

Saw it tonight, there was something off about it that I can't quite put my finger on.

It was absolutely ludicrous of course, probably more than ever before but I understand it's the 8th movie and they've gone big, but that wasn't the issue.

I think it might have been the way it was edited together, it just felt messy.

The second half was better than the first though.

Solid 5/10 and 2 of those points are for Hayley Atwell’s magnificent bosom.

It was way, way too long and didn’t need to be. It felt oddly jeopardy free. Some magnificent scenery at the end and reasonable stunts, although not as good as previous installments.

Edit - forgot to say it was nice of Mr. Cruise to thank us for coming to watch at the start.

Edit 2 - not sure why Vanessa Kirby wasn’t in this one.

I saw it on Sunday and not sure what I think.
It's a great cinema film but it's not a good film The story is really pants even for an MI film.

The AI concept was done really poorly and Gabriel was a terrible villain. The stunts were cool but during the submarine scene I did find myself thinking when's it going to end?

Similar to me then.

It was novel (for a blockbuster movie) that there was almost no dialogue in the submarine sequence...until they ruined it where they needed Tom to give us the exposition
that he was going to escape via the torpedo tube.
And so he just said it out loud to himself.

Yes that happens in a lot of movies, but they were doing so well.

I enjoyed it, fun film to watch, didn't feel as long as it actually was, and I've always loved the stunts, the constant running / hanging on to planes.

not enough rebecca ferguson though :(

Action/Stunts 8/10

Story 5/10 - really convoluted

Standard MI film, not worth a proper re-watch IMHO.

4k kings seem to suggest the pacing in the final film is way off because not many seen part one. So they tried to recap it in the first half.
