Hi

I have ordered a new rig which consists of:

Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 20-Core Processor 265K
ASUS® ROG STRIX Z890-F GAMING WIFI (LGA1851
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz CL30
1TB SAMSUNG 9100 PRO
CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™

And am undecided about GPU apart from it will be one of these:
PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 9070 Hell Hound 16GB GDDR6
PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Hell Hound 16GB GDDR6

Is it worth getting the XT version over thee none XT with the setup I have please? TIA

What is the monitor resolution/refresh? What are the games being played? What FPS do you prefer (e.g. is 60 fine, or are you a competitive +200 fps gamer)?

I knew I will have missed some info! Games will be latest shooter, driving, actions, and maybe football and basketball ones. Havent bought any yet.60 is enough for now

Samsung C27R500FHP 27-inch curved monitor with the following key specifications:
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Full HD)
  • Response Time: 4ms (GTG)
  • Refresh Rate: 60Hz

Why didn't you buy AMD CPU? X3d are better than the Intels.

9070 will be fine for 1080p, but I recommend getting a 1440p monitor in which case 9070XT is the better long term option

I'd agree with the above, 9070 is more than sufficient for 1080p/60, but an upgrade to 1440p would be more immersive/enjoyable and make the 9070 XT a better idea.

You didn't tell us the price though, which is important to the question, since if the difference is e.g. £30 then that's a no-brainer, but £300? No thanks.

i had a 9070 @ 1440p 165hz, it would hover around 140fps in most of the games i play,
i would go for the 9070xt if i was buying now

9070 and a new 1440p monitor would be my choice.

If your thinking of a 9070xt you have to consider 5070ti but for 1080p 60hz monitor is unwise.
