Seed germinated in my ant colonies test tube 2-3 days ago
snapped when trying to gently pull it out.

setup new test tube 2 days ago and put it in near the old one.
Queen would rather spend loads of energy constantly tugging the snapped root.

It's crazy how strong something 14-16mm long is, she actually managed to pull it a bit out the cotton wool and chucked 2-3 little pieces of it outside knowing the white mould that can develop will kill her brood.

I checked on her just now and saw her leaving the tube and investigating the other new one finally! after a few trips in and out and manipulating the cotton wool reservoir inside.
Then she went back to the old tube and grabbed some brood :O she's moving home finally.

should be getting a founding nest in the post int he next day or two and a cheap digital microscope from amazon so hopefully I can get some good pics


Not sure what my other queen with no workers is doing, not checked on her in a week, might take a look soon, but meant to only look 1-2 weeks when they have no workers or they can stress and eat brood, need total darkness and quiet

Soo I had a interesting night.

Been staying away at a job, and you meet random people in the hotel bar and meet a lot of people from different lines of work.

Well got chatting with one guy and he happened to mention that he worked at the same place one of the service guys used to work.

I was only after some banter bait, so I asked him what was he like did he have any notable **** ups etc. mainly asi didn’t really like him always felt there was something off with his attitude and work style

Turns out he didn’t leave because the job wasn’t too challenging and he’d been looked over for a promotion…

He’d been arrested whilst on holiday of raping a woman in her hotel room whilst his wife was down by the pool….

I’ve found the article about the arrest and him going to court but nothing about a conviction or sentence.

We regularly have female apprentices who can be in the van/ working away with engineers, so I feel it’s my responsibility as a dad to at least have this looked into by management/hr.

So how do you write a email outing a person as a possible rapist piece of **** to hr?

I’ve contacted my manager and the hr rep for a personal meeting today, it’s a 2 hour drive to the main office (so I rarely visit). Near instant reply back from my manager worried there’s something seriously wrong
 
Anyone signed up to the Future Health survey? I’m sure there was a thread on it but can’t find anywhere.

Curious to know if only had a positive experience ie they got some insight into their health.

That's a tough discussion. He's innocent until proven guilty in the eyes of the law.

The company will quickly assess the risk and scope. The fact he's left the company will set the tone (companies are **** for the majority of sexual abuse issues - a CIO 2w left before I joined due to sexual misconduct, yet he was given the option to go quietly by himself). It's also not only male on female.

The company is not magically spring anything (it could get itself into serious legal issues) but instead would put into place annual mandatory training with scenarios including workplace sexual attacks or misconduct with a whistleblower and authorities numbers if it feels at risk. If accusations arise it's going to try to side step the finger pointing. Only if the accusing parties take the company itself to a tribunal or sue will it really lift a finger.

Either way for you - report it, confirm it's been reported and then I suspect you'll be told to simply leave to them.

It is a horrible one to deal with - I had a colleague allege to me another colleague was driving company vehicles while under the influence (alcohol and weed) and all I could do was run it up the chain in the mean time, fortunately they showed themselves the door due to other conduct before I had to deal with it in any capacity.

I just come back from an impromptu anniversary lunch at the local Thai place.. I feel overly full, queasy because of the amount and in need of a cat nap.

Second day i have had a ride in to work for a while on the bike, and its been spitting/raining,


I dont usally like riding in the rain as i dont want to get the bike wet but it is refreshing
 
Feeling super unmotivated this week which is very unlike me. Other than answering a couple of requests and ironing my shirt for a meeting later, I’ve barely done a thing all day, would happily lie down and sleep :o

Anyone else experience that?

Unfortunately this is very like me :/

I am off with stress this week and have made it 4 days without doing any meaningful work around the house. Hoping today I can change that with some small starting jobs.
 
Been at my new job in the city for few months now, we've got a work social on the Thames which I am about to leave the office and head to, all paid for.

My team have slowly backed out one by one so now I am sending it on my own.. usually the sort of thing of nightmares for me but I am making an effort push myself out of my comfort zone. Might report back here tomorrow if anything interesting happens.
