*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

If it’s doa, they should hand over a new one and deal with the return themselves.

Apparently this has come from Nintendo, who have insisted that they check "faulty" consoles.

I can't be arsed with a refund as I paid with PP credit plan, which I've already paid off and don't want to wait for that to clear, put me in credit to then pay again assuming stock is in.

Argos can be useless when something is not right. Surely they have to take it back or replace it as it's less than 30 days old even if it has come from Nintendo, Argos sold it after all. I'd be playing hell with them over that, especially when their site says this,

If you received your item less than 30 days ago

  • We will offer you an exchange, replacement or refund.
  • If your item was damaged when you received it then you'll need to contact us about arranging an exchange, a replacement or a refund.

@Noxia didn't have this on his bingo card ( grumpy men not wanting to shower before putting on screen protector ). Keep him happy, and go grab a shower quick ! :D

I've actually decided against applying one, mainly based on evidence that I've never dropped a device or ruined a screen. Plus I don't take it out and about.

All set up. Transfer done. Had to update my old pro controller via the old Switch before I could get it connected to the S2. All good. Grabbed the TOTK upgrade and ofc MKW off the store. Just downloading stuff now so I’ll go back to the PS5 for a while. Happy with it though it’s quality.

what makes this worse is that Argos refer you to Nintendo for a replacement for faulty parts.

So it's going to be a few weeks before I play.
That's BS, retailers problem just be firm and ask for either a refund or replacement.

"Faults Within the First Six Months
If a fault arises within the first six months, the assumption is that the item was defective at the time of purchase unless the retailer can prove otherwise. The seller is legally obligated to:

Repair or Replace: Provide a repair or replacement.
Refund: If repair or replacement is not possible or reasonable, you may request a refund.
This protection applies regardless of warranties or guarantees, which are additional to your statutory rights."

They can also be great when something isn't right, like when they gave me a free PS4 :D

Without actually going into any game yet, just running through setup and downloads etc... my first impressions are that I miss the OLED. Everything else I've read had said the screen is awesome but I can already feel I will miss those inky blacks.

We'll see when I get in game. TBH though, I do mostly use it docked.
