*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

Mine arrived just after 1PM. It's all set up and working just fine.

First impressions are roughly what I'd expected. The UI feels more responsive than the original Switch. Visuals are... fine, I guess. Mario Kart World is still, under all the new features, just Mario Kart, for better and worse.

It runs quite hot. Not quite as hot as the Steam Deck, but it throws off a lot more heat than its predecessor.

my first impressions are that I miss the OLED. Everything else I've read had said the screen is awesome but I can already feel I will miss those inky blacks.
Yeah I just played 30mins of MKW and the screen definitely lacks the contrast range of an OLED. For me it's subtle but still noticeable.

Anyone running their Switch via ARC or eARC? I want to connect the Switch to the TV, and then the TV to the AVR (this lives in another room). I can get picture but no sound. Wondering if anyone knows if theres some Switch setting or quirk I need to know of :D

edit: Seems the classic turning everything off and back on again has worked!

Hmm, it seems to play some of the games on my profile, I need to be in physical proximity to my Switch 1, like Starfew Valley and South Park...which I bought off the E-shop.

Physical game like my Zelda I can just play and have downloaded the save file off Cloud but it won't let me install Stardew without being close to my Switch 1. (using the same Nintendo Online account)

Got screen protector on, not perfect but no bubbles and no dust spots. There are a couple of tiny lint fibres if I look really hard for.

The official case is nice, debating wether to even attempt putting the screen protector on that it comes with or just get a glass one off Amazon. I wouldn’t put one on but my toddler will get his grubby mits all over it when I’m not looking

Broken Seal on mine
Likewise? I’m assuming they’re all like that ?

I’m glad I’ve held of playing Totk completely, with the upgraded version it’s very very nice.

I played it briefly on the original switch but found it quite choppy in terms of frame rate and blurry / low resolution with it. It put me off wanting to play the game !

Looking forward to playing though it fully on switch 2 as it’s a much better experience.

Does anyone with an LG Oled tv have an issue with switch 2 not being correctly identified by the HDMI port? Like my PS5 Xbox show up on their respected ports, but the switch just says HDMI 1. (When a device isn’t correctly identified by the TV you can’t display Tv game settings.)

Yes, but ALLM still puts the TV into game mode. If you want to change the port name then you can do so in the TV settings, rename it and change the icon to a game console, it worked for me
