*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

Is the new Pro controller really worth £75? I’ve got the original Pro controller to keep me going for now but I’ll pick up the new one at some point if it’s really worthwhile. Need to get my hands on one to see for myself I guess.

When games start using the extra buttons I think it would be worth it. It’s a minor improvement otherwise.

Feels lighter and really comfortable.

Tbh I can’t tell the difference between the original pro controller and the new one. Only thing I have noticed / like is that you can now turn on the console from the new controller:D

Okay, can't play Mario Kart World, because it is a Virtual Card Game....it wants to pair with Switch 1 for some reason! It says this process only need to be completed once.

The Switch one is 200 miles away....The Switch 1 can't run Mario Kart World....I added it to my Switch 2, why does it want to pair with Switch 1?

Haven't had a chance to play with it properly as it's spent the last 7 hours downloading my entire library which should be about somewhere around 300GB to 400GB once done, wish they used Wi-Fi 6E because however they've implemented Wi-Fi 6 on the Switch 2 it's not that fast when it should be. The Steam Deck OLED is much faster when it comes to downloads, at my speed I should have had 350GB done in under 1hr. Probably doesn't help the servers are most likely being hammered.

Glad I picked up a 256GB card earlier, just a shame 512GB is still pretty much impossible to get at a normal price and 1TB is still nonexistent for now. While the screen is not OLED, Nintendo has finally used a pretty nice panel this time, the screen is bright and the colours are very vibrant. The new pro controller also feels very nice, and feels far more premium than my Elite Series 2, these are the smoothest and quietest sticks I've used, buttons feel great and whatever plastic they are using for the shell, it's very nice.

Somehow I did manage to crash it earlier, while it was downloading, and I was opening up the Switch online store the whole system hard locked and required me to hold the power button for quite a few seconds to power it off, has been fine for hours since then.

There is a few software quirks like that But nothing too major. I had an issue where the first time I plugged it into my TV the TV said there is no signal and I had to reboot the system twice but it's been fine since.

Apparently there is also a bug with super smash bros, if someone picks a certain character in online play, all Switch 2 systems instantly crash

Do you have any other original Switch consoles?

Posts on reddit from other suggest it's not necessarily the Switch you would assume that it's wanting to link with

PSA Alert - Do not attempt to lick your Switch 2 game cartridges

Because I've seen a few videos of people trying this including that airhead Austin Evans. Switch 2 cartridges are coated with a chemical (denatonium benzoate) - this chemical is extremely bitter to deter children from trying to lick, suck or eat their switch 2 games, basically it tastes like **** so be warned

Try logging in to your Nintendo account online. You might be able to remove the system from there. My original Switch hasn't logged in for so long that it isn't appearing though so I'm not sure what options you'll get.

Just looked at my son's one. It has an unpair option on the web.

Edit: I see, you don't necessarily want it unpaired. Very weird that it's doing that though.

My sister has it, I am popping down there tomorrow. The screen says it only need to be done once, but I am not sure if it needs to be done once per eShop game or once for the console.

Because so far, they have had the Switch 1 for the past few months, whenever I see a cheap game on the eShop that I think the girls (nieces) like to play, I would buy it and it would install automatically to the console and ready to play next time they boot it up.

I would like this to continue.

Hdr is great on BOTW, the world isn't so insipid. Performance boost more welcome though. So far not missing OLED

The same as the original Switch games.

Is the launch line up really so boring people have already resorted to licking the games instead of playing them less than 24 hours after release?
