Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Looking past the extremely large E-Peen, eye spy a Glorious Mouse Receiver :p

Well hidden :D

Thank you, yeah I accidentally bought a glorious mouse but I kinda like it!

Amazing how much power you can get in such small packages nowadays. I remember the days of north and south bridges, motherboards that filled up the boot of your car and had about 50 billion combinations of jumper to accommodate the RAM. Then the palaver of master and slave drives, IDE cables that would probably work as a hammock :D

Nowadays most of the stuff is just plug & play. Loses a bit of the magic imo.

I couldn’t agree more! My first PC was a Spectrum+2, Amstrad PC1512 and then a 486Dx2-66. As you say it’s all too easy now, but would I go back? Nah :D

My ants first real nest came in the post.

Cartref Cyntaf V2 | Founding Nest
should be good to about 30 workers and the queen has 6 right now. (was 7 at one point 2 days ago but the newest small, weakest most pale one managed to drown in tiny bit of oil that somehow ran down the side of the container even though I applied it as per instructions :/
unlucky for him I guess, fortunate for me I noticed before the ant colony started a mourning period and threw a funeral.
so they will never know, chatgpt assures me the queen has no way to track workers they only find out if one dies when they find it.

that test tube is 150mm x 16 or 17mm diameter for reference

Queen with her brood and workers. queen is 16-18mm long, some of her workers will almost be that size at some point, probably in about 6 -12months
Curve/reflection of the tube makes the ant at top right look like a flea, its not, same as the bottom left looks like a shadow of an ant, thats a real ant.

they only just moved to the test tube they are in yesterday, so no idea how long they take to move again, probably be fast when they realise theres a nice moist substrate to put the brood on

I'be got a usb digital microscope so hopefully when they move I can post some really close up pics in "this instant and moment" or somewhere else on the forum

Not pictured is the 60m stainless steel wire + anchors and ties that these lights now hang from that are fitted to a Smart plug.

Got tempted by some Pro Stock Team Canada 4Nations Face off gloves along with some practise jerseys and few other bits not pictured. Should have picked a cheaper sport :o

As I liked that Virgil's Root Beer, I figured to try out the Cherry pop flavour.

Verdict? It's great!

Didn't have any small coloured cable ties to colour code some headphone cables, so these arrived today too:

FYI standard nail clippers do a really good job of producing a nice rounded end to a zip tie cut, to prevent them from gashing/snagging other things.

Yeah crazy aren't they. I'm quite fussy about lens quality - I like lenses I can just 'forget' I'm wearing; so far the only ones I've really found that I can do this with are Oakley, especially the polarised ones. Some other polarised ones I've tried always seem to have stupid compromises like clashing with my car screens and stuff, hugely irritating.

I am really wanting a pair of my old X-Metal Juliets but the price of them now are just stupid!

Like these? :D
