I spotted that the Gainward GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Phoenix-S is on (pre-order) offer at £699.95.

I haven't been able to find any reviews of this one but wonder what people here thoughts are? Worth getting or wait for another 5070 Ti from another manufactuer and/or variant?

My main concern is around fan noise, I'd ideally like a card that's as quiet as possible. My 3070 FE is loud under load!

Many thanks

It looks like a smaller version of the regular phoenix, 2.5 slots width.
Market segmentation with these cards has gone crazy

In terms of cooling with Gainward 5070ti it should be like this from worst to best:

Gainward GeForce RTX™ 5070 Ti Phoenix-S (2.5 slot card with no vapor chamber)
Gainward GeForce RTX™ 5070 Ti Phoenix V1 (3 slot card with no vapor chamber)
Gainward GeForce RTX™ 5070 Ti Phoenix (3 slot card with vapor chamber)
Gainward GeForce RTX™ 5070 Ti Phantom (3.5 slot card with vapor chamber)

Then if it has GS in the name that stands for golden sample which just means it comes with a slight overclock.
So I think the S will be the loudest of the cards as it's the smallest with no vapor chamber and designed for small form factor builds.

Maybe you can find more info on the Palit cards
Palit Gaming Pro = Gainward Phoenix with a different fan shroud
Palt Gamerock = Gainward Phantom with a different fan shroud

That's really helpful, thank you.

I spoke to OcUK suppport earlier and found out they don't know when the pre-orders will come in but take the money immediately. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that for a card I'm unsure about/can't find any reviews of. I'm not desperate for the upgrade so will probably hold off, at least until it's in stock (assuming it doesn't all go on pre-orders).

The stock is due next Wednesday. :)

IMO the Pheonix(non V1) and the Phantom are the only ones worth getting if you want a quiet PC. A vapor chamber really helps with cooling.

The Phantom is a gigantic card and is currently in stock, I built a PC with it recently and it's the quietest card I've ever heard. You just need to make sure you have enough room in your case if you decide to get it. And of course it's also more expensive than the cards with a smaller cooler but still cheaper than brands like MSI or Asus.
