Just going to repeat this as I am very curious and it's a new page

how do you guys cope with the ones that got away ? i used some short term money to skim on Coreweave , if i had left it in it would be 16k up , more importantly i need to learn when to sell , i seem to be good at what to buy its knowing when to sell , they say take your slice and don't look back edit as i said made 1k last week in real money

I owned 4000 shares of AMD at about 2.40 in 2013. Sold at about 4 after a while. Didn't really need the money, just got bored. Originally I was just going to hold them. I figured they were under valued at the time but had some real problems that I thought they could fix. It doesn't really bother me, just consider it a lesson learnt. I'm good at picking shares but rubbish at knowing when to sell as well, so I just buy and hold now (for the most part). Have made other bad selling decisions over the years as well.

Edit: I've figured out if I don't sell - I'd win much more over time even if I hold onto the losers. I only really buy tech stocks.

You've just described time in the market beats timing the market. A very well known thing.

If you get a well established company then hold the shares long term is the best option. Then just collect the dividends. I've have 2 companies that are still down since 2018 they have been gradually rising still keeping them and collecting the div.
I probably lost a bit because of inflation when I look at the dividend yield but I hope they can go past my break even point by 5 to 10% and I should break even with div to inflation loss.

Boring bagel man covers interesting topic.

Anyone noticing this? I've not got any wedge in the markets ATM but stuff like this is good to know for when I decide to stop being a filthy peasant.

Couldn't find a dip worth punting on, so parked my funds in PLTR for overnight. If it gains 0.3% I'll have hit +60% ROR.

I wouldn't. Too risky

No chance. This will be a massive embarrassment for Boeing, an American institution. When they have the biggest ego in the world running the country, action will be taken, Boeing will apologise and make loads of promises, and the share price will rise again.

Mark my words.

IAM sitting here thinking about should I sell and cash in my 8% gains. Purchased these house building shares last week.

Oh well it is too late now.
