Hi all,

I have the Gigabyte x870 gaming WiFi 6 Motherboard;

Going to pair a 5070 ti Gaming OC and 9800x3d

It has a 1 x 8 pin power slot and 1 x 4 pin power slot for the CPU.

Im using PC5-48000C26 6000MHz RAM

I will be buying the

Super Flower LEADEX III GOLD UP 1000W PSU

From the description, it has these connectors for the CPU;

CPU Power Connectors 12V ATX/EPS2
CPU Power Supply1x 8-Pin

This is my first time building, so I'm a bit confused.

Why does the PSU have 3 CPU power cables? 1 x 8 pin but what is the 12v ATX/EPS?

I thought all PSUs come with 2 x 8-pin power cables for the CPU, with one cable you can break off into a 1 x 4 cable.

Is this PSU okay for my motherboard? If not is there any other PSU I should upgrade to that contains this cable?

--------------------------------

Also, from what I understand I only need to use the 1x8 pin power and this is fine as I'm not doing any overclocking, is that right?

The manual doesn't state this.

That PSU is fine for your motherboard and pretty much any consumer rig you could build right now, some of which might require extra CPU connectors.

The right arrow is motherboard power, the top arrow is the 8 pin you need to plug in, the extra four pin I believe is just if you want to OC and should be fine without but I'd honestly just plug the thing in anyway tbh.

Cheers pal, I think I'll just stick with the 1x8 power pin and leave the other then. From what I am reading it should be enough for the 9800x3d, thank you for the visual guide!!

Not all do, but most modern PSUs of 750 and above.

Normally when they say EPS12v, they mean the 8-pin, but like you said, at least one will be 4+4.
