Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

£116m, only just a new record. Guess we're saving blowing the old one out the water for isak:D

Kerkez and a striker pls '

Wirtz is expensive (sure Gary Neville will be on Sky telling everyone that, but he said the same about Virgil too) but over his hopefully long career at Liverpool he'll be worth that investment.

Isak I can't see happening unless we sell Diaz and Nunez tbh as we balance the books a little even with the money we earnt from winning the Premiership. Plus, I can't see Newcastle wanting to sell at all.

Mbeuemo to spurs now

I told you   :D

Spurs hold talks with Brentford over deal for Mbeumo

Latest from Sky Sports News' Michael Bridge and Lyall Thomas:

Tottenham have held initial discussions with Brentford about a deal for Bryan Mbeumo.

Spurs are interested in Mbeumo and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo - both are players they admire.

Mbeumo is understood to be more intrigued by a move to Tottenham now that Thomas Frank has become their head coach.

And Spurs have received encouragement about a potential deal now that the Dane has made the switch to North London.

Last week we reported Spurs had stepped up their interest in Semenyo prior to sacking Ange Postecoglou.

Manchester United had a bid rejected for Mbeumo before Spurs started talks to hire Frank.

And we reported last week that United are expected to make another offer for the Cameroon star. United are also interested in Semenyo too.

This window is shaping up to be highly amusing, arsenal fan's wetting their knickers over gyokeres for 6 months plus only to see him go to man utd and they up with another 'project' striker. Man utd fans taking **** out of Newcastle fans about mbeumo only for him to bugger off to spurs and Liverpool pinching Wirtz off man city/Isak off Newcastle. Love it

Let's see what happens. I think he's a good player but if it means we sign a 'proper' striker instead then I don't think it really matters. Doesn't he usually play on the wing?

It looks to me as though we made an initial bid which was rejected and then didn't actually improve on it, it doesn't take this long to 'prepare' another bid...

We've been hashing out a deal with Leverkusen for 3 odd weeks, if reports are to be believed this is our 3rd bid. Its been a week since your 1st for mbeumo...

Didn't the Mbeumo story appear when it looked as though Bruno was leaving for Saudi? Could have been a rushed bid to stop a fan revolt, and after more consideration our attention has turned to the likes of Gyokeres/Ekitike as we desperately need a proper striker instead of converting a winger.

Doesn't look great though either way, people will just say INEOS look inept.

This is assuming there's anything to the story, Sky are not the most reliable these days.

It does seem an odd(ish) one given Amad on the right. Mbuemo is a very good footballer and would be a good signing, but equally it isn't your priority.

Whilst Mbeumo has had a good season, his overall stats are a 1 in 3 for goals to games since he has been with Brentford.
His stats per 90 are slightly better vs Cunha, mainly from an assists POV so I wouldn't go paying more than ~£60m for him.

He's a right winger who has sometimes played as a second striker. He's even played wing back for us at times. 1 in 3 are very good numbers when not playing as a no9. 20 goals last season from out on the right wing are exceptional numbers.

He led the league in xA and lead the top European five leagues in a number of other categories. His work rate and defensive contributions are right at the top two. Unless you're signing a Salah type, there are few better a right forwards out there.

Amount of takes-on that ended in a goal - last season Mbuemo's figure was better than every single United player combined.
