Hi , I am looking to get a printer for photo printing , I don’t need a scanner and I have a laser for black and white printing . I have a budget of about £200 and I would like to use it for printing holidays snaps and also for some causal photography.

As above but them Epson EcoTank machines seem to be rather good and cost effective.

Have a mono laserjet myself and just use Snapfish or whoever for photos.

I saw the Epson EcoTanks printers ,they seem to offer good value . I’ve also been looking at the Canon Selphy CP1500 but you seem to be tied into that system which I’m not a fan of.

I think 6x4 .

If you're never going to print larger and don't print very frequently, the Selphy CP1500 is good choice tbh. Cost per print is high but its dye sublimation so the "ink" won't dry out through lack of use, no heads to get clogged up etc. Small enough to put in a drawer when not in use, and has the option to be portable. I'd not be looking at an A4+ photo printer unless I was printing that size, or printing enough that the cost per print is actually an issue.

I would sugest that an A4 printer would be your best option if you are going to be printing a lot as there will be times where you maybe want something bigger than a very small 6x4 print. the Epson ET-2781 is on offer now at Epson's own website, but a cheaper option would be the ET-2862. These would offer good quality colour prints on a range of photos papers with very reasonable running costs.

I've got a Canon A3 pigment ink printer which produces stunning results up to A3+ size on variety of different papers, but the running costs are much higher (£150 for a set of ten inks)

I went with the Selphy CP1500 and it’s a good little printer .The prints are good quality and I can print directly from my Canon DLS camera .I have noticed a bug in win 11 though , I can’t change the print size from A4 but printing from my phone and camera works well .
