Another Drunk Driver Crashes into my Car

That looks like a write off. Sill damage and probably more structural damage where the damper mounts to the body if the wheel has been pushed that far forward. I wouldn't be suprised if the wishbone mounts were broken too.

I feel for you. What a pain. I’d be raging!

I assume his insurance will pay out despite the fact he was drunk?
Yep, as long as there is a policy on the car then they will always cover third party claims regardless of what the driver did or what state they were in. They can then go after the driver to reclaim their costs.

Sorry to see this, how infuriating. A lovely car too.

I fear that could well be a write off. An insurance repairer could soon get to £30k of parts there and that’s before you consider any sill damage etc.

I'd expect a write off too looking at the damage. It won't be cheap.

Damn, that looks pretty major damage.

Accidents happen but having a skin full then getting behind the wheel isn't an accident, it's a conscious decision.

Hopefully the driver will have a nice long period without a licence to think about that.

To be honest it's probably better that it is. I had similar non-fault damage years ago, although not as bad as this, which was repaired by insurance. The car never felt the same to me again - even though the logical part of my brain says it was fine. I got rid not long after.

The car is going to Motofix Prestige in Cirecester about 80 miles away!! Google reviews look quite positive, anyone have any experience with them?

Is there a pub down the road or something?

Probably about time you just start using a bicycle. Or the bus!

It's probably fixable, but it's a question of whether the insurance company will pay for the fix. It may be the case that suspension parts have been bent or snapped, and they can be replaced.

Personally, I wouldn't get a nice car until I had driveway parking. This kind of thing is too common.

About time these absolute ***** got mandatory prison time and a life ban tbh.
A ban on life more like. Absolute scum, should be put against a wall and shot. Instead of cars that could easily have been people he plowed into. The drink drive limit should be zero, if you are going to have any drink at all don't bloody drive. Alcohol affects different people in different ways. When I joined the RAF back in 89 we had a guy who would be ****** as a mattress after just two pints!!
