Not surprised. That was quite a significant amount of fire from both the brakes. They'll be concerned with the suspension wishbones, brake tin, cabling, hoses, even the wing was looking charred.

I think by T4/T5 it was pretty obvious Sainz wasn't going to get going - so an aborted start at that point should have been the call, rather than waiting until Lando hit the second last corner.

Usually they clear the stalled car from the grid rather than aborting. They needed to wait until that was not possible.
 
Wouldn't be the first time that drivers have got burns from the seat. IIRC several years ago during a pit stop they dumped some water in the cockpit to try to cool the it down a little.

No no I agree, it's why I was surprised why it took so long for them to move the car from the grid. I know it's a very short lap but it felt like everyone was just waiting.
 
That dirty side of the grid was so so slow to get away. Did everyone on that side lose a place?!
