*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

The more I'm playing on my switch one the more I want to upgrade to a switch 2 haha

Would love a bigger screen and games to run at extra fps. Currently playing Monster rise and aftrt a few hours I jump on PC with gsync and the frame rate looks buttery smooth haha

Just wish it was more of a brand new console rather than just an upgrade to the original switch. I have no intention of plugging it into the TV it purely for hand held fun

Picking up TotK again has been tempting since I haven't done a lot of the optional content in it (I did all the sky stuff, but hardly anthing on the ground/underground). I don't really go back to play single player games though.

I'm definitely very excited for Bananza, been itching for a new 3D platformer since Odyssey. On that note, I was thinking about what games I'd most want to see on Switch 2...

  • Wave Race 3 - the water sections in MKW reminded me how much I miss this series and how fun racing on water (and waves) can be
  • Bayonetta 4 - big fan of the series, 2 is in my top 5 games ever I think
  • Super Mario Kingdom - an open world 3D mario. It'll happen, surely
  • A 2D/3D fighter - I'd love to see something like a new ARMS or new Pokken game that evolves those ideas, a new smash bros would be cool too I guess if they can make it feel fresh again
  • 2D Metroid - I'm excited for Prime 4 but thought Metroid Dread was amazing
  • Zelda - What will they do next? I'd love a new WW style sea exploration game on the Breath/Tears engine - could they make underwater exploration fun too?

I'm a bit worried I will hate Tot Kingdom because of the brief part I played of it. I absolutely hated the building and the controls for it. And if that's the main gimmick then I don't know what else there will be of substance to keep me interested perhaps.

But I'll cross that bridge when I get to it I guess, might surprise myself like I did by enjoying botw this time around

Came on holiday and played MKW with my partner. I’m blaming tiny screen and old eyes for my loss. She graciously credits auto steer and accelerate with the win.

Aye. I dislike crafting and all that jazz but have enjoyed restarting BotW, in spite of the weapon degradation and somewhat tedious cooking mechanic. I suspect I will get TotK but not for at least a year or so after completing BotW (which is now on the back burner as DS2 has captured my immediate attention).

Don't force yourself to do it then. It's possible to finish the game without having to resort to any elaborate designs.

Ah ok good to know. I'm not very creative anyway so that's probably a good thing
In the late game you have to make a few vehicles to traverse some terrain ... but it's literally just a case of putting 5 or 6 pieces together, and that's it. You can even save templates for creations, so providing you have the parts you can just "one click" and be done with it.

Oh ok, templates changes things a bit as I assumed you were always manually trying to put it all together. I won't be on it for a long time yet, I'm not rushing BOTW.

Hi, I have the Nintendo Switch OLED. Whats the stuff about the screen response time, ghosting and blur? Is it noticeable?
Im quite partial to a "good screen"

High refresh rate OLEDs for all TVs in the house, and a high refresh rate PC monitor, Ive not noticed any "big" issues with it in handheld mode so far. Especially once you are playing a game and enjoying it

If you have to ask then the answer is likely not. But some are more sensitive to it. If you run to the right in a Mario 2D game and concentrate on a ? block as it scrolls by you'll see what the fuss is about.

Am I the only one that finds the screen just bad? It's in motion performance just feels bad and to me its a bit of a blurry mess! I really notice it when moving from high refresh desktop gaming to the switch. It isn't super noticeable after a bit of sitting down and playing as your eyes sort of get used to it but I think overall the screen is pretty bad honestly.

Just realised this is totally in line with the comment above  The original switch had a bad screen, no doubt about it, the switch 2 to me actually feels worse than the original switch 1 when it comes to the screen.
