Ah maybe. I’m a 1-2 a day kind of guy!

Welcome aboard @Noxia sounds a pretty sensible approach. I also got some blood work which had some worrying markers. Not pre diabetic but close to the range. I’ve been pretty good on diet but booze still floors me. I’ve been a little better and have really cut out wine/spirits for the most part.

Resistance bands are good but there’s a huge amount you can do with just body weights too :)

Yeah doesn't surprise me though, crisp and biscuit fiend and basically no exercise. I did the math and I was thinking God if I take two or three malted milk biscuits every time I make a drink that's like 120 calories a time and I might do that up to 5 times a day. All adds up.

One thing I've wondered. I know it's not that accurate on a cheap smart watch, but it seems that the estimated calories lost are based on my heart rate and the time I spend exercising, though, to be clear, I do not take any notice whatsoever of the calories.

Anyway, I take Propanol (beta blockers) mainly for anxiety but it also negates the elevated HR from my stimulant meds, meaning that I would hit 140bpm plus going at the same rate as when I hit about 110 to 120bpm on them. That made me think am I hampering my weight loss because I can't get my heart rate as high when I'm taking the Propranolol. Not that I'd stop taking it because of that.

One thing I am really hoping happens is if I can keep this up that I will naturally have a lower heart rate and won't need to take the Propranolol anymore.

I started introducing 20 squats after the bike too just as an easy form of additional work, though painfully aware I need to do upper body too.
I did also look at calisthenics and stuff. Just haven't got around to getting myself a mat and stuff because I'm not doing it on the carpet.

Followup blood test on 14th to see how the cholesterol is going. If that's going down too then I'm on a good path which should form part of my daily routine as much as possible. I have realised that when I have to do something out of the ordinary I am thinking oh god that means I can't do my bike at the usual time so when am I going to fit it in. It's much easier when I'm working from home because I simply do it on my lunch break, it's when I have to do it in the evening it can be a struggle.

1-2 a day??!! Holy ****!! Lol

Decent month for me at last. Started June at 104.9kg and finished at 101.9kg. I'm not getting too excited as i've been at this point before only for around a week mid June only for it to jump up to 104kg again and hold at that level for a while too!

As mentioned above. June was a great month for exercise for me, with 34hours of recorded activity which marks a nice jump from March (1hr), April (11hrs) and May (20hrs). Decent going considering the heat so will be interesting to see how this flows into July as it continues to heat up.

I've got an online PT and he's been fantastic. If anyone is looking for one, I would very strongly recommend him and would also receive a referral bonus :D

I started with him about three months ago and I think I'm down around 6 kg. Not mega numbers, but my physique is changing rapidly to being more muscular than fat, which is lovely.

So SW this year was 101 kg, and today I'm at around 91 kg (first few months I did on my own).

Sounds really interesting! What sort of things are you managing to do? How often are you seeing them? Sounds like amazing progress.

I've used online coaches in the past and if you find the right one they're very effective if you're like me and don't need someone chasing you around the gym.

Definitely worth checking out dude. I haven't even met him, although I'm sure I could if I wanted to as he doesn't live far from me.

He's set me up with a PPL routine, but obviously tailors it to my needs - I've had a slipped disc and struggle with a weak lower back, so a lot of it for now is focused both on weight loss and strengthening my back.

I'm over the moon with it. Check him out - honestly, really lovely an genuine guy: https://www.instagram.com/captainjackedcoaching

There's also a community on WhatsApp, so there's something like 50 of us who can chat to each other every day.

Hah well I need someone to help get me fixed, but yeah I don't need him on my back constantly. I'm very consistent - do what I'm told - and it works basically!

1st of month weight in and only 2lbs difference which is nothing compared to first month, but I've lost 2-3 inches off my waist. Thought my belt was broken.
Maybe I'll be back into those 32 jeans I saved since I was in my 20s lol

@dirtychinchilla that guy is the pirate PT that I never knew I needed! Might check him out. I’m really time limited but also really need to sort out my lower back :o

@Noxia - Bravo! Weight loss is good, but improving your waist:hip ratio and losing visceral fat is the key to living longer. I’m fitting my 34” waist trousers much better since concentrating on diet this spring/summer and feel a lot better for it. I was 36-38” before my recent healthier eating drive.

Sauerkraut seems to really help reduce gut bloating!

All his stuff is pirate themed. Tonight we have The Captain's Deck, which is a weekly Q&A with him.

If you are going to sign up, please let me know because I'd really appreciate the referral fee!!

Top Tip 1 - if you're thinking about trying the banana flavoured Huel, just remember how delightful Amoxicillin was as a child, then punch yourself in the stomach until either you vomit, or change your mind - it's the same result.

Top Tip 2 - check *before* you use the new blender that your wife hasn't just used it to make a massive batch of Thai Red Curry paste, with a couple of Ghost Peppers, "because Birdeyes are for wimps"...

I had a really bad binge day yesterday. I ate a whole vienetta. It was lush though. So going to have to eat really carefully for a good long while.
As long as you don’t eat a whole vienetta every day it’ll balance out! One day isn’t going to ruin everything, just refocus and get back on to making sensible choices!

I'm steady in the 88's this last week. 88.1kg this morning. Would really like to keep the momentum over the next 2 weeks before holidays! A long cycle and a couple of swimming sessions has been helping too. I'll aim to swim twice this week and see if I can sneak a cycle at the weekend again. I'm hoping that even with holiday, some continued effort over the summer should keep me in a good place.
