Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Surely it's a one way to ticket to all kinds of diabetes and health issues.

I suffer from having an Overactive thyroid (Hyperthyroidism) for around the last 8 years
I 100% blame the redbull for causing it.
But the 2 specialists i seen are 100% sure the redbull is not the reason

Reminds me of a quote from The Royale Family, "She insists it’s an overactive thyroid... It was very active last night, it cleaned out the biscuit tin!" :D

...I thought you were joking

Have you tried the sugar free versions?
No i don't like any of the sugar free drinks i have ever tried...

I just need to give up drinking this crap, I given up multiple times for a few months each time over the years and then started drinking it again

It not only my health it also costs a small fortune, £50 per week on Redbull = £2,600 per year, That could buy me a 5090 every year for that

Mate.. you need to start the switch from sugar drink to sugar free. You're currently drinking 1,500 calories a day from those drinks. Your poor teeth and blood sugar levels :(

Don't try to give up as the first step. Going from 800mg of caffeine per day to 0mg would be hellish. Go sugar free first, but taper, phase out the sugar drinks slowly. I know you said you don't like the taste, but you need to man up, it's a sweet fizzy drink not broccoli juice (tough love mode).

FYI 800mg caffeine per day is twice the recommended maximum.

It took me a while, but i rarely drink fizzy drinks these days.

after buying a a big water bottle last year, my fizzy/sugary drink intake has been almost entirely replaced by water.

it wasnt easy, but i feel so much better for it.

A gradual reduction in the sugar levels over a set time would be an easier option to swallow imho and would bring the bodies dependency on what-ever it craves down slowly.

No-where near as extreme, but we've gone from a couple of sugars in drinks all the time to switching to sugar free tabs that now see us both not bothered if it is sweetened or not.

I would be concerned that the heart is using far too many of it's lifetime beats every time one of them cans is consumed.

Thanks

I had a blood test done for everything only about 4 months ago and everything was fine apart from my stomach acid level or something was a little bit low or high but wasn't very far off what it meant to of been which they gave me Folic Acid tablets for
I have a more basic blood test done every 3 months due to my Hyperthyroidism

I googled the caffeine levels in these cokes and redbull and the caffeine levels seem to be around the same in the sugar free versions

  • Coca-Cola Classic: 34mg of caffeine per 12 ounces (355ml).

  • Diet Coke: 46mg of caffeine per 12 ounces (355ml).

  • Coke Zero: 34mg of caffeine per 12 ounces (355ml)

A standard 8.4 fl oz can of Sugarfree Red Bull contains 80 mg of caffeine. This is roughly equivalent to a cup of home-brewed coffee.

Sugar free has its own issues just as bad as the sugary version. Start the switch to water or tea.

I'm not suggesting sugar free is better, but going cold turkey from what appears to be 2 dependencies is going to result in failure. Cutting sugar is the first step, then reducing those sugar free drinks.

Thanks

You have 2 things tackle - sugar and caffeine. My suggestion to switch to sugar free (slowly, phased) is to move you off of 1500 cals of pure liquid sugar to sweeteners. The caffeine will be the same, so you won't be getting caffeine withdrawals.

Once you are on sugar free, you slowly reduce those down which will in turn reduce your caffeine intake.

If you try to just cut both at the same time you'll feel awful. Take a balanced approach - if you get down to half the amount you drink now but sugar free, that's 1500 cals of sugar out of your diet and half the caffeine content.
