Christian Horner is set to be sacked as the boss of Red Bull.

According to the Daily Mail, Horner is to be sacked imminently by Red Bull.

Mod note:
Just a reminder, but consider it a warning - can we not have any further derogatory name calling of drivers, team bosses and the like. We don't expect you to like every driver/team, but at least keep comments respectful.

I’ve said this before, it’s a shame as Horner is such an engaging listen outside of F1 and the sky cameras. Equally annoying in front of the camera on race weekend.

Depending on what’s gone on, someone will pick up a very competent team principle

A reminder, and I'm going to add this to the first post.

Bye Bye :D

He's one of the figures in F1 I like least, and I really detested the way they attempted to brush him being a sex pest under the carpet, but: there's no doubt he was exceptionally good at his job. He turned round a failing team and turned it into a true juggernaut of the sport. Delivering not one, but two, periods of total dominance. His absence will leave a massive hole for Red Bull to fill.

I wonder if he'll try to get another role in Motorsport, or retire and enjoy his multimillion fortune.

I know what I'd do, and it wouldn't involve looking for another job!

Interesting timing; it’s something they could / should have done a while ago and maybe would have had less churn at the team.

Agree maybe Max is having some sway, but from what people say, he mainly wants a car / team that performs, rather than the politics being a major factor?

Apart from that maybe he’s carrying the can for the car being undrivable for anyone other than Max. And if they lose Max they’d be screwed.

Yea but some people like working, doing something you truly enjoy isn't work, getting paid for it is just a bonus.

Makes Flavio Briatore look like a decent human being and that is saying a lot. I am more surprised he managed to make it out alive after cheating on his wife more than anything.

It will be interesting to see if the team was all down to him or if they will get better after this.

Maybe Max phoned in this morning to say he's signed with Mercedes and Horner has been given the boot for failing to secure his services? :p

Like him or loathe him, I would expect to see a bit of a downturn in performance from Red Bull - whatever your opinion on him or his methods, delivering 15 top 3 constructors finishes in the last 16 seasons, including 6 titles is a mightily impressive record and will be very hard act to follow.
