What did you do to your bike today?

There is a four wheel scooter too called a Qooda. It's a weird thing. Not sold here I don't think.

There was one in Fulham for a while, just stood there rotting. They're made to allow people with disabilities to ride, no idea how good they are though.

These were meant to give you the comfort and dryness of a car, without having to faff about in traffic, and also skirt any parking costs. They were actually really good, as was the Benelli Adiva.

Here, an actual convertible scooter :D

The three wheelers started off as a way to get on a "bike" without needing a car licence, as they're categorized as tricycles, but people soon found out that double the traction at the front is actually a lot safer than a single wheel.

The British mentality around scooters is quite amusing to me, I grew up in Holland where everyone's on scooters, they simply can't be beat for practicaility and convenience. Here they're "gay" for some reason.

I actually clocked a proper oldschool biker looking at my scooter a few weeks ago, he was stood in a pickup in his car and was looking at it. I came out with a trolley full of shopping and loaded it in to the scoot without so much as needing a pocket. He actually remarked at how convenient it was. Think I showed someone that day :D

The triumph street Rs 2017 ownership five months in, has not gone well.
Bought from main dealer, fsh, one owner.
So far headlight set on fire and had to buy secondhand £225, clutch cable outer was split and now the screen has failed 30 mins after a heavy rain shower.
New screen is £1150 and dealer has agreed to fit and code the dash to the ecu.
Bike had 6k when I got it, done 1800 miles.
Lost trust in triumph is an understatement ;)

Also hard to believe when the dash fails the bike is a non runner, good job it didn’t happen along way from home.
Have paid £100 to man with van to get back to the main dealer.
Tech is great when working

The screen is a known weak point on them unfortunately. I'm sure I've seen there's some places that can fix them rather than splashing out on a new one though.

Trouble is it’s a sealed unit and designed not to fix and reseal.
Proper don’t trust the bike to break down at anytime.
Really bad electrical engineering, to render the bike useless.

Sold it on Saturday morning. That's my riding days over. The love wasn't there and hadn't been for some time now.
So, one year on and I have zero regrets about getting rid of my bike. I haven't missed riding one bit.

Started the long overdue tidying out of the garage yesterday. I now have my jacket, trousers, spine protector and waterproofs listed on ebay. All in great condition so hopefully they'll sell for a few quid.

One of the complaints about the 6 pot Tokico calipers on the ZX9 is they need a *lot* of maintenance to work well. A known upgrade is a set of 4 pot Nissin, so I sourced a scabby pair and set about refurbing them. They were pretty scabby, got no before pics before I stripped them. Pistons, amazingly are all ok, so got a seal and bleed nipple kit, along with a new pair of banjo bolts. Cleaned up and masked them up and gave them a few coats of gold high temp caliper paint. EBC FA236HH pads on the way. Fixing hardware polished up as well - anti-rattle shims also polished - no pics of them, cba.....

The idea is to at least try them out. If I don't think or feel they're any better, I'll at least have a set of calipers to throw on the bike so I can refurb/clean the other pair.

Cleaned before:

After a coat or two of paint. Not perfect, but good enough

Totally hated the street triple, after loads of problems on a bike with 6k on the clock.
So got rid of it, as I did not trust it at all.
All happened in 2k miles and 4 months of ownership.
What sort of problems did you get? It had 6k miles on it when you purchased it?
Hope you enjoy the SP!

Got all the bits together for a fork service. Also first time using the ABBA stand (worth every penny so far btw). Will be starting the job today, I'm in no rush to get it done so will take my time and clean some bits up as I go along.

Ah good luck! What will a fork service include exactly? Will you be doing fork seals? That's something I fear is on the horizon, and forks is the only big thing I've yet to ever mess with.
