Get yourself a magnetic window mesh screen off Amazon. Means I can have the window wide open all night and no flies/moths/spiders get in.Is everyone doing multiple checks before bed, murdering every mosquito they can find before sleeping on top of the sheets?

I do fold it over, and wrap it round myself, if I wake up in the middle of the night, mind - the SHEET that is, you sickos!

Nice one, how strong are the magnets? Will a strong breeze suck the mesh outwards and into the sky lol?

Very glad the council are turning street lights off at night, not getting the usual bug invasion and sleeping miles better.
Oh really? I know they are attracted to lights, though didn't know the street lighting would make a huge difference in keeping them out your home.

No, they're pretty strong. Plus the air just goes straight through the mesh anyway.

being on the side of a bay / harbour area, this isnt looking too shabby
Do you remember which one from Amazon you bought?
It's a kit, so you cut and stick the magnetic strip around the window that is to be opened, then attach the mesh and next layers and cut around.
It does have a tendency for the Corner pieces to slide off sometimes, so it's worth glueing those down onto the plastic strip.
It sounds more faff than it is. I've done all the bedroom main windows with them.

By the time I was vaguely with it at 1100ish, it was already 27C here and barely any benefit of heading out, instead of waiting until the evening.
Temp sensors reporting 37° in shed and over 40° in the loft (where my network kit is). Got a fan blowing to try and help. Drove through a shopping centre on way home today, outside temp sensor on one of the buildings reported 30° outside. This is Newcastle, it is not allowed. We're not equipped for this. Please go back to single digits so that we can take our tops off.
