The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Still very impressed the 9070 xt is using way less power than I expected and the 550w PSU is absolutely fine

The only thing I can't work out is how to render at a resolution higher than native ? Maybe not possible with AMD but thought it was

I game at 1080p but often on my Nvidia card is redner at 1440p and downsample looked better than applying AA

I've enabled VSR in the AMD settings but it won't let me set either the desktop or any games to above native resolution. Any ideas please ?

About double the perf of the 3060 Ti from what I can see, did another Timespy bench with -80 UV and Memory at 2700 which literally doubles the Ti score :)

I only play DayZ but saw the core clock boost to just over 3200MHz a few times playing that game, never thought I'd see that on this card.

I still get some stuttering in DayZ too but Im trying different tweaks to minimise it, was hoping brute force would eliminate DayZ stuttering :(

And what is with some settings not saving in the driver software, Power slider and Fan controls usually reset after a reboot, gone back to MSI Afterburner for fan control.
I always had the same issue in till I removed MSI AB now my settings save

Anyone got and gaming temps for Samsung memory on stock fan profile
Not seen mine go over 70c yet in benchmarking or while playing DayZ, this morning I noticed the GPU temp sat around 42c-43c for most of the session and I have a lot of the settings turned up now.. really impressed with this card and cooler, though I forgot to check mem temp so will try and remember next time I play but it wont be anywhere near 70c in DayZ.

I have GTA V Enhanced installed, maybe run that for a bit tonight and see what the temps are like :)

So that’s about the same as Hynix ram.
It's going to full depend on what other cooling is going on in that case too. Some people might not have any additional cooling at the front of the case etc. Also hard to judge how 'stressed' the cards are if no one is specifying resolution or refresh rate when they check these.

I can check later with mine on The Finals, that game is taxing on both CPU & GPU (I play at 4k 240hz, no FPS limit with Anti-Lag 2 enabled) and I've got 2 140mm fans as intake on my case with one of those fans basically blasting straight at the GPU.

Unless it is hitting the 108 °C limit, it's all pretty irrelevant. Not sure why everyone is obsessed with VRAM temps. Unlike the GPU core temp throttling, VRAM temp throttling doesn't happen until it hits the max temp, whereas the GPU boost clock is relative to the operating temp.

Keeping the GPU core temp cool makes a much bigger difference.

85 degrees for me though I’ve had my UV and PL to pull no more than 230 watts. Sits at 30% fan speed 80 degrees mem temp and 60/75 gpu/hot spot temp

That's odd. I've just turned it on in the adrenaline software, the screen flickers briefly, now when I go to windows display settings I have new options above my display's native resolution.

Agreed I think just hot and if wasn't monitored no one would care !

Mine is in a 4000d case so loads of ventilation the GPU itself is quite cool but in certain games/tests the memory is quite toasty

It is running at 2730 fast timings though so that probably has some influence on temps too

Thankyou - I'll try again although I have tried several times

Can't imagine what I'm doing wrong on my 3060ti I just set to on and then either set desktop to 1440p or set it individually in games

Tried again turned on VSR and no options above 1080p in desktop

I'm running DVI to HDMI but the output format shouldn't matter the scaling is all internal

Googling seems quite a few have had this issue but there seems no fix

I've got mine in the 5000d, so similar to yours.
I think the hottest I've seen is 90 degs under very heavy load on a hot day.
I've stopped monitoring it as realised it didn't matter.

and this is Samsung memory?
No, mine is Hynix. It's an OG Nitro+. Hynix has a thermal limit of 108 degrees, so there is 18 degrees headroom on my worst case scenario, hence me not caring at all about VRAM temps. Gaming doesn't even get me close to 90 degs on VRAM.

Not sure what the thermal limit on Samsung is, but they run looser timings than Hynix and perform slightly worse.
