Christian Horner sacked!

I won’t link it as it contains swearing, but the Chris Harris podcast on this yesterday is both funny and interesting. It’s on YouTube for anyone interested.

Looks like they paying about £50m to get rid of him, together with the money they already paid to Checo, that's a lot of Red Bull cash just going on firing people!
 
What's really interesting is how little has come out of Salzburg. No leaks, not a drop. Given the broken hosepipe that surrounded Horner's issues last year, it's rare corporate discipline which suggests this fight has more to do with boardroom and company control than racing to me.
 
Apparently Horner will bag a cool £66,000,000 from Red Bull for getting the sack.

They'll have to sell quite a few cans of their pop to make that up!

I guess it shows someone had intentions with the leaks before. This time it's in nobody's interest to leak info. It won't further anyone's cause.

Sauce? The last I read he had £10/yr left on his contract until 2030 which means £50m. But that article was saying he'd likely get much less because they can prove the levels of under performance etc. It's all hearsay and we'll never know. I'm not even that interested in the fallout for him, he's a well paid CEO and these people walk from one lofty job into another with no real problems. The only bit I'll be interested in is whether or not he does end up going to another team.

It's currently being argued over with his lawyers. I believe they've said he's still technically employed by Red Bull, so there's probably some trade off between them letting him go and work elsewhere and him getting the fattest payout. Between him and the missus, I don't think they're exactly poor either way. edit: Huh, reckoned on a net worth of about £40-50m apparently, I figured it would be more than that. I guess a £50m payout is still a pretty big deal then!

I googled their combined net worth, and it was returned as 450 million. :eek:

Never said I believed it, just that Google reported it.

Does seem a lot, suppose the only one who really knows his worth is the man himself.
