This Instant And Moment - 2025!

So i managed to get a free pair of wireless ear phones, this is the first set iv had since they got rid of the headphone jack on phones

I'm sold, i may get some decent ones.

Seeing as the weather’s been rather bueno today, we’ve broke the paddling pool out for the little’un. Now considering she’s non-verbal, doesn’t understand social norms and lacks any sense of danger or notion that she shouldn’t be doing something, we’ve just discovered a horrifying new garden based game called ‘Poop or dead leaf’.

Bueno? Weird way to say absolutely ****ing horrific. :p

Whos winning the game? :p

Yeah, 29° here today, which is rough. Anything past 25° and it gets pretty uncomfortable. And just to think, a few years ago I was working in engine rooms where temps could often exceeded 60° in the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea during this time of year. Honestly don’t know how I functioned back then, can’t imagine doing it now .

She’s in bed now, she got one past the defence but I’ve not ended myself, so we’ll call it a draw. 2nd leg tomorrow though.

Spent best part of a week in Wales - haven't done any decent mountain walking/climbing since COVID hit - reinforced the difference between gym fitness and proper outdoor fitness - scrambles that I'd have laughed at all day 5+ years ago were taking 3 rest breaks and a lot more time :( fortunately on the flat or downhill I've still got it.

EDIT: Not exactly an ego hit but brought me down to earth a bit - back in the day I managed Cader Idris pretty much bang on the record time and stuff like the "Fan Dance" was easily within my capabilities.

Heard a banging noise - one of my neighbours has just stuck up a gazebo, got out the sun loungers, started a big fire and partying at midnight :s fortunately far enough away to not really be a problem smoke or noise wise.

EDIT: Tell a lie have had to reverse my fans to bring air in from the other side of the house as the smoke smell was starting to become noticeable, the nearer neighbour is probably going to hit the roof.

My son's chest infection didn't clear with antibiotics he had, so he needs a course via I.Vs. Usually that means a hospital stay and risk of further infection but this time our G.P managed to get him on the books with a different hospital's community I.V. team.

Took him up to the hospital this morning and a team in the surgical department put a PICC line in under local anaesthetic. They were absolutely brilliant with him and had a hoist ready, put music and lights on and kept it very stress free. We were out again in less than an hour and the community team should be out later to start the course. So much easier than being admitted and taking up a bed when he doesn't have any high risk symptoms.

Rang the HMRC yesterday regarding a business PAYE refund we claimed for on the 7th May which is supposed to be received within 40 working days.

I was informed that due to the backlog the estimated time we would receive the refund is....*checks notes*....the 24th Nov...

Just had to re-sign up to an EE SIM only deal,

its gone from £8 per month to £12 a month, and im getting less data

they are also not doing 12 month contracts, only 24 month, there is also a price increase every year

i swear companies are increasing just for the sake of more profit

That is the whole basis of capitalism, yes :p

Iv been an EE customer for around 10 years now, usually they are pretty good doing deals when you want to renew, they would usually sort you out with a deal . They have gone a bit poo these days on the renewals front

Since coming back from the USA I've caught 7 squirrels, on top of a couple before the holiday using a homemade trap.
It's illegal to release grey squirrels in the UK once you catch them, as they are an invasive species, so had to make sure they were dead before releasing the trap.
Had to do it because we were being overrun and they are quite destructive ruining trees, buildings and 'produce'. We now had our first strawberries, runner beans, apples, pears, hazelnuts, garlic and a few others. We are still discovering what is growing in the garden.
Got some tomatoes and lettuces on the go too.
So we're about 100 mice/voles and about 20 squirrels in ... We used to pay a pest control guy £40 a time to catch 1 or 2 but it got too expensive so built my own traps and doing it old school.
