It's too hot :(

Hosepipe ban is a total ban you're not even allowed to siphon off your bathwater into a water butt :o
They're empty too and for the same reason the reservoirs are: no rain!
Use something that isn't a hose to collect the water then it's not trade description act and you have a legal loop hole?

I also worryingly red the first part as "siphon off your bathwater into a butt plug" but that's a story for another day.

I bloody hate the heat. I swear, I must have been a husky or something in a previous life lol. Outside temp last night was around 17c, but my room temp didn't drop below 24c all night. Window was wide open. The bedroom is west facing unfortunately so bakes from mid after noon onward. Today the outside temp got up to 27c and right now at 22:45, it's 23c (No idea how you lot down south cope with 30+!). So earlier today I just bit the bullet and got myself a portable AC unit and my god, what a difference. I mean, after this weekend the temps will probably drop and that will be it for the rest of the year, but now I have a decent solution for that 1 week of the year. :D

Yeah I have a 14k BTU one, and I've got my bedroom down to 17 degrees, absolutely perfect as it was like 33-34 out there earlier

I've been in full temperature reducing Nazi mode today in the house:

Use of oven banned

Mrs did the ironing in the garden with an extension lead to set up and a Bluetooth speaker for company.

All windows open and curtains on sunny side closed, then opened when in shade.

Downstairs maxed out at 27.4c

Outside maxed at 32.7c

Even after all that, upstairs was hot.

At dusk I waited until outside temperature dropped below indoors temperature, then opened all upstairs windows wide and got a small tower fan in the bedroom on the window sill blowing cooler air in.

I've got no thermometers upstairs but I estimate it's about 26c in our room, and dropping.

It's alright, currently lying on bed with no duvet.

only did 6 hours at work (Toby carvery) today. It was horrible. The kitchen extractor fans seemed 'off'. we checked them out and were not working 100%. So that means, 4 ovens and 2 steamers worth of heat just wallowing in the kitchen. took a few extra smoke breaks during my shift and ended up dripping with sweat down my back and front whilst sat out side. Imagine , trousers, chef whites, apron and a thick oven cloth tucked in your apron ties. Breakfast service was mad. Not, Derby County FC at midday kick off busy but busy enough to **** you up. Ok, the restaurant has AC installed 2 years ago, that doesnt mean you ******* can come in and ruin our day by making us bloody busy. "oh darling, Toby has AC, lets get a ******* cooked roast dinner in this 32oc heat"

Upside, I can hear the portable AC unit whirring away in our bedroom, cant wait to to go to bed. Literally no air movement here in derby right now. All windows open downstairs and zero difference.

So many moaners. Enjoy the good weather !
One person's good is anothers hell.
Im a winter guy, in shorts and t-shirt all year round, cold doesn't bother me but heat sucks all my energy away on top of being sticky and the inability to get any good sleep.

Good weather for me is anywhere between 10c-20c. Generally fine with 0c temps outside will still be in shorts and t-shirt. Anything over 20c is just too damm hot.

There is nothing to enjoy about sweating constantly and being boiling hot and spinning out. But you do you lol.

Exactly. I actually like not sweating/spinning out and feeling clean, and being able to do activities without turning into a puddle.
