NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Yep, 5070, 5070 Ti and 5080 are all getting the Super treatment. The former will have 18GB and the latter 2 will have 24GB.

Should've been that all along IMO.

Nvidia, Nvidiaing ( sorry, being anti consumer) is nothing new though mate. Apart from the flagship product, they always release the proper versions of their cards later on, with an even higher price tag.

Sadly, they're too far ahead of their competitors at this point to actually care, and they know it.

Yep, 1 of the biggest issues is hiring policies. Nvidia goes after top tier talent fresh from universities and colleges like a shark in blooded water, AMD takes the "totally chill open source groovy maannnnn" approach which is not how you get the best and brightest minds.

Dumb question, the 5070ti's for sale on Ocuk all list either a memory clockspeed of 28000MHz or 14000MHz, and there seems no correllation with price.
Is this stat actually relevant?

Very tempted by the £679.99 Gainward Ti Phoenix-S, but feeling a bit lost as I haven't built a PC for nearly 10 years now. I'm assuming it won't perform more than a few percent worse than the more expensive models?

Go for it if you're tempted! It's a solid pick with decent cooling, stays quiet, and has a factory overclock for that extra oomph. Benchmarks show it's only like 3-7% behind the fancier and pricier models from ASUS or MSI, mostly in sustained boosts or thermals under heavy load...

The ultimate epeen extension. Or badge of idiocy...probably the latter really. Worth $500,000

Looks horrendous like it was done by rank amateurs.

It looks like it was taken straight out of the mold and not cleaned up at all.

For 500,000 USD I expect it to be cleaned up, Ornately engraved and polished to perfection.

5090 FE arrived today. First thing I tested was the Doom: Dark Ages benchmark with Path Tracing at Ultra settings - Ran fine, multiple times with no issues.

Then in the game menu I turned on Frame Gen x2...(I never use frame gen, just testing how it ran)

Within 20 seconds, the computer BSOD with a "Video Scheduler Internal Error"

Now as soon as the game boots to the menu screen I get the BSOD.

What do we think might have occured? The joys of upgrading GPU's
