Hi All,

Any suggestions for finding a good plumber in the area? I've asked the street if anybody had a reccomendation, got one, and he's been less than responsive.

I've heard naff things about check-a-trade, saying if sombody needs to be on it then are arn't good enough to get by on reccomendations alone.

So apart from having an ask around - what are the bets ways to get trades now-a-days?

Go into your local Plumbase or similar and ask them.

Do a Google search and find a local company that has quite a few employees, say 5+. Often they will do gas as well. These larger local companies will often have reasonable quality staff, it's a way of avoiding cowboys. Read all the Google reviews for the company. Take a look at their premises on Google maps or in person to see if they keep it well.

Must have seen neighbours who have had plumbing work so I'd ask them.
(after seeing articles this week about fraudulent lock smiths people employ in emergency situations recommended by google - who they payed for advertising -
I made a mental note to identify a good one just in case)(
