This afternoon I've been for a 88 mile bimble, but i've found that my leather trousers are a bit hot and sweaty. Does anyone have a recommendation for an alternative which will be a little bit cooler? I've only ever owned either leather or cordura, not tried anything else.

88 miles, not walking I assume
I have heavy armoured jeans and just accept that it will be sweaty. It's ok until you have to stop.

I hate full leathers, especially when ones lipstick pops out (must be the leather feel).
Bull-it jeans work well for me in hot weather and everything stays where it should.

I ride in single layer riding jeans 99% of the time but even they get hot on the hottest days. I have bought some mesh trousers but I haven't worn them yet as I might return them. Although the idea of them is great I think they may actually be hotter because of the immense heat the Tiger engine puts out on hot days.

Decent riding jeans/combats have been my year round preference since I started riding pretty much.

Hood jeans have been crash tested by me and after a quick brush you couldn't really tell they'd touched tarmac

Bought some knox (I think) armoured jeans along with some tcx short boots when I got my streetfighter.
Feels lighter than leathers and more protective than I thought it would

When I got my first ST RS back in 2018, they had some deal on Triumph branded Resurgence jeans, 120 quid iirc - so grabbed a pair.

They've been through three crashes now, and although there's a hole near the cuff, and they have worn near tank grips - they're still my god to for the warmer days.

They're a stretchy jeans type material, D30 protectors in the knees and hips, and only have extra mesh/protection on the upper leg and backside - so feel really comfortable to wear when it's hot.

But as with all kit, once you lose the decent airflow over 20-25, you start to bake

Rokker single layer jeans are amazing, they feel no different to Levis off the bike, and the armour is unobtrusive (even more so with the new D30 Diablo, I'm told). Roadskin is a cheaper alternative, though I've only had their lined jeans rather than single layer (which were a lot warmer than my Rokkers).

Which Tiger do you have? My gen 1 800 is roasting in the summer; I've seen some plastic aftermarket deflectors for the 900s.

It's also a gen 1 from 2011. So early it doesn't have ABS and has the silver frame before it was updated to grey. They are quite known for it and even the frame gets hot. The 900 is arguably worse because the early model bodywork actually directs the radiator heat over your knees. The 2025 900 was changed slightly and deflects the heat outward a little more.

I have a pair of those exact jeans and they are great (CE3 etc) but for really hot weather they are sweaty as they come! I chance it with a pair of CE2 merlin riding jeans which are way cooler (and way less safe!!)
