Freeaim VR Shoes

well what better way to get fit and test your app :)
i reckon you could get it working. itsalso good advertisement for you and them. win win, unless you want to keep numbers down.

have you much experience in procedural generation? you could do an endless walk and every walk would be differant, be that with a movie or tv screen or just Jess rather than creating a one of set peace,it can creat its self, b
something like Happy Run? but maybe not scary?
or even sheff like thing were Hannah is in the car.

lots that could be implemented, but how easy and technically they can be is another issue.

thinking about it, these shoes should be good for : Tea For God
given how it uses locamotion.

still plenty to think about :) im intereste to get an update from you on the Shoes when they arrive. assuming you dont manage to get prototypes in advance.

I've no experience with procedural generation, but I've seen on Reddit recently some apps that allow the user to input literally any description of an environment i.e. "scenic green hills with a cobbled brick road going through it" and for this description to be generated into a VR environment the user can virtually explore, that would be very cool to integrate.

Lots of possibilities, I look forward to getting them and when the SDK is available. They already have SteamVR integration, if the game/app has smooth locomotion and is using SteamVR then these shoes will work. Meta standalone apps like my app afaik will require integration with the SDK they are working on. Will deffo give feedback.

worth a review of the other 2 mentioned in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/1mk61py/upcoming_vr_treadmills/
Xelerate VR
HexVR
They look good but too big, I don't have a lot of space, and too expensive. About £1k was the limit I had in my mind and that's what the Freeaim shoes are, and they take up hardly any space, it's only wearing shoes once past the getting used to them phases (where a frame is optional). If I ever had the space though I'd love one of the omni-directional treadmills.

links were more for general interest. i thought it interesting the catvr with marbles/bearings wasnt considered before.

2days left. umming and ar'ing still on backing. i love the idea and small form factor genuinely seem like good idea

which option of frame did you opt for Tykey? the Hexframe with hard base?

yep the hex frame with hard base, i figure i'll need it while getting used to them so maybe the first hour, or about 2 x 30 minute play sessions (gonna take it easy at first as I am so unfit) then use them by themselves being as its a major advantage of them. its a lot of money to splurge so have a good think! tbh I am thinking about selling my play for dream mr headset i just dont use it often enough for its best use case which is high res wireless pcvr so selling that will pay for these shoes.
