A Grand in 24 hrs.
Yesterday took Ronnie to vet and today took car to garage to have advisories fixed after MOT.
Vet was scan and XRay and garage was suspension links.
Take a guess who dragged in the most and never got their hands dirty.
When told how much I never even blinked _when I bought a new Honda Accord for that Money it was a major purchase and did a lot of coughing.
How things have changed.

When you realise there are a large amount of people that regularly spend over that for just one nights stay in a fancy hotel, you come to realise just how broken human society is.

The tax man blew a bill of £523 at me this morning, thats half a grand

Oh and ee phoned .Their prices are going up and up for the next 2 years. No more 12 month sim only contracts either, only 24 month!

Vets have increasingly been gouging prices, this year a lot of garages seem to have pushed up their labour charges - lots of every day costs are going through the roof, some of this driven by underlying costs like massive increases in electricity charges but a lot of it is from investment companies, often foreign, buying up services and then wringing everything they can out of customers.

Vet bills. Yes I know about them.
I was just saying to vet yesterday if I had less money I wouldn't have a choice in this up and coming procedure. But because I can afford it I have to pay it.

So far I've never not got koda the care he needs because of money. But it's cost 10k + so far easily.
Probably close to 15.
I don't even want to work it out.

I only have 2 expensive money sinks in life. My dog and holidays.

As a dog owner, I too have found vets charging a lot more than say two years ago, let alone last year. Not being afraid about bringing this with the vets, I'm given the old sob story about their rent going up - okay, but surely that doesn't mean they should start robbing customers blind.

It's a challenge to spend under £1k a month these days on essentials, trying to eek out what little savings I have having not worked for almost two years and no benefits for the last 17 months.

Rent; electricity; BB; water (other stuff comes out of better half's account)... In fact, BB and water have gone up recently and now essentials cost over a grand!

I won't have another.
Its too much cost and too much heart ache when they get ill.
Damned private equity.

One of two main reasons I never got another cat, vet bills have got out of control in this country, like a lot of other things.

And it's different as it's a life.
If there's one thing about having a pet I've learnt it's that we cannot allow our health care system to move to the USA style. It would be devastating.

You have people arguing against assisted dying because of coercion. Just think if getting treatment for cancer wiped out the kids inheritance

I need to maybe upgrade my phone in half a year to a year, so EE said i could do that if i wanted to. I am rocking a Pixel4XL which is still going quite strong given how long i have had it.

It's rubbish but you have to be really savvy these days or simply make sacrifices.

Unfortunately what you "would expect" to pay/be charged has gone out the window.

More more self sufficient you can be the better, learn how to service cars and fix more minor stuff yourself, DIY at home etc.
