Are you busy?

Every time I visit a customer they ask me this. It seems to be a thing that happened since COVID, where some people got sacked and others had to take up the slack.

I feel like telling them to **** off. Get some new chat!

I'm good at looking busy.

I find strolling around with my arms folded looking at control panels works well.

always have a sheet of paper rolled up in your hand and occasionally furrow your brow and look annoyed. folk won't want to ask what's up, in case your problem becomes their problem.
might go for a nap now. i'm not that busy really.

Putting on ear defenders usually works.
