How much should I pay someone locally to build my PC?

To be honest if it was just putting together i would say about £100. To build it, make sure it works and windows installed etc i would budget about 10% of the parts personally. However i would probably just see how much a etailer could build for, install, test and warrant for, even if some of the parts have to be altered for them to facilitate the build.

To be honest it's cable management which usually takes the longest! Putting the components in place is the easy part :)

Even installing Windows is pretty quick these days - I remember that alone used to take over an hour

Antex Flux Pro was pretty much done from the standard, all I had to do is shove the new cables through the holes then velco tied them down.

Mate thought transferring from one case to the other is a "massive job" lol

:D

by the way, before i build the PC, i promise to clean my hands, after eating the crisps, chocolate, and touching the stripper
Why waste time cleaning your hands, when you could get the stripper to feed the crisps and chocolate to you whilst giving you a lapdance?
Or were you planning on eating them and watching her wash the car whilst lashed on cider?
Either way it's a win ;)

Sure you know yourself but how does the OP know you are competent?
I would ask them a few questions beforehand just to test their basic knowledge. I do know how to build a PC myself, it's just that I can't be bothered and I am one of the few peeps that doesn't actually enjoy building things.

Like I said, if issues rise during the actual building or down the line, then I would just bite the bullet and do the full return and fitting of the replacement myself.

I charge anywhere between £78 to £150 depending on what is been installed and the components.

If its a bog standard home office PC, then its £78. High end gaming PCs I charge up to £150.

I have a SDS drill, breaker bar, sledge hammer, angle grinder, circular saw and torque wrench

The danger with charging builds as a service is, I hope you (builder) have insurance in case you break any of the components.

Any idea how much someone would charge for this service and what would be a reasonable amount to pay?
nothing. just bring it round and i'll sort you out :)

i've just built @Marc Berry 's computer so he can vouch lol

Usually I charge my friends a domino pizza or something.

Though I can't get my head around someone on OCUK being unable/unwilling to build a PC lol.
