I mean, a 2K investment into lowering lap times is only logical !

Well that was great timing, been building a new system yesterday and today and the only thing missing was a 5080 FE, now it arrives Monday! Means I don't have to faff with taking the GPU out of my old machine temporarily, lots of hassle saved.
5080 is a really good card, Just wish it came with 24GB from the get go.
5090 FE still available hours later.
MSI 5090 Vanguard has dropped in price massively, £2,200! Probably by far the best deal if you're looking for a quiet, "premium", 5090.
Imagine all these drops are scalpers returning unopened cards and Nvidia just re-releasing them LOL640am and the 5090 FE is still in stock!
game over scalpers![]()
Haven't heard anything more, so I assume it was just a temporary issue with a small number of cards. But I'll definitely to check to see if my card is affected or not when I receive it.What happened with the ROPS, where some GPUs didn't have the full amount?
Was that just a small portion of random launch cards?

This is the thing which concerns me the most, which is why I'll be undervolting when I get the card. I wonder how many people on these forums have been affected ? My impression is hardly any.It certainly hasn't been as big of an issue as the 12VHPWR connect melting problem has been.
It certainly seems like a very low percentage of people affected, much like the ROP issue. When browsing pc hardware related subreddits, that low percentage becomes "a lot more" people with the amount of traffic that site gets vs the cozy amount of traffic we get here. As such it always seems like a bigger issue when only taking into account what you see over there. This is the thing which concerns me the most, which is why I'll be undervolting when I get the card. We certainly had one person with the missing ROPs problem and there have been a fair few melting 4090s over the last couple of years. I don't think we've yet had anybody hit by a melted 5090 connector yet, but the number of those cards in circulation is still low. This is the thing which concerns me the most, which is why I'll be undervolting when I get the card. Yeah, that was my impression, too. There were various links to people on reddit being affected, but nobody on OcUK.I don't think we've yet had anybody hit by a melted 5090 connector yet, but the number of those cards in circulation is still low.
Torn betwen 5080 now or wait till Super next year, coming from an 3080.
Agreed. At this point in the cycle, I'd say go for it if the Super had the same amount of memory.Wait for the Super, 5080 on its own is a really good card but it should never have come out with 16GB.
